Martin Dihigo just back from SGC
1 Attachment(s)
I was pretty excited to get this one back from SGC. I actually bought and posted the card last summer, and just now got around to having it graded. Graded better than I thought.
Best regards, Joe |
Joe,
Congrats on the grade with your Dihigo. Hope all is well with you. Best, Andy |
Finishing the month off with a roughy toughy, which will fit fine in my set. Thanks to Chris at Buckler Cards.

another T205...
with every new T205 I pick up, the more I fall in love with this set. It amazes me that this set seems to get so much less attention than T206s. While I understand the absence of action shots is a strike against it, everything else about it is amazing. The portraits are incredible, the facsimile autographs on the NL player cards, the full write-ups, the gold borders...these are like T206s on crack AND steroids!!! Anyway, back to enjoying the humble start of my T205 collection...

Old pick-up, but I finally got a photo taken. ml die-cuts Dickey.
|
Very clean example Dean. Nicely done.
|
Very clean card Dean. Great pickup!
|
Thanks guys. I'm very happy with it. It is really clean and the focus is dead on. The first pre-war card I bought was this card, but in a PSA 8, back in 2000. I quickly realized that I would have a very small collection if I kept going after 8's. So I sold it and started going after mid-grade cards and I have no regrets. It's a thrill to find mid-grade cards with great eye appeal. :)

Wow! Just won these on the bay for way less than I thought? Makes me wonder what I'm missing???? An HOF in 60 for less than 200..:) And added another one to my N.Y. Amer. for less than 90..:) Maybe just a little OC?

I will add to the compliments on that '33 Gehrig - that's about as good as you could want for that card. |

Thank You, Scott and Thank You Historic Images (O/T) for the reunion picture of the Four Horsemen of Notre Dame plus one of their tackles, James Boland.

Gotta love a guy named "Peaches"...
This is card #12 on my long road to completing a T205 set in VGish condition...not sure if this qualifies as the black signature or the blue signature or maybe a little bit of both...

Picked up a couple more T210-2's off Ebay last week.
|
question
for those of you that collect T210, i want to know why..
since they are all minor leaguers, you cant be player collectors..is it for the thrill of the chase? have you completed sets of real Major leaguers already? is it the belief that they are undervalued? thanks for the response... |

I think its one of cleanest looking sets out there, if I decide to move away from the T206s, it is high on my list of potential sets.
|
Don't forget the T210 Casey Stengel which is also a very popular (and expensive) card as well.

T210's...
Quote:
Scott - I love T210's for many reasons including (in no particular order) : - Massive set with many scarce cards which presents a bit of a challenge and also a solid number of rare cards that you may only see once in your lifetime. - The set contains many Major Leaguer's with a story to tell... (Fun research set) - The set can be collected by portrait, batters, fielders, catchers with gear, or by town or city, state, team, league, or even by series. (8 series - 51 teams) A collector can collect this set in such a variety of ways. I have enjoyed collecting the set over the last decade + and it still excites me. |
Living in the Columbia, SC area it was a natural to collect T210 Series 1 Columbia players. I've considered jumping on Charleston, Greenville, etc. but haven't made the move yet.

I've wanted one of the 1908 George Wright Postcard of Morgan Bulkeley for a long time now. And somehow I ended up with two of these beauties from the bay...One with address lines, and one without. Every other one I've seen so far has had the lines. YAY! VARIATIONS :D
|
Nice, David.
I'll have to remember to check the back of mine the next time I have it in hand. |
