Actively collecting again after some time away...a couple of my first new pickups. Pretty excited about Matty, even with a little tape:

T206collector, you have quite an impressive collection of signed T206s! I've always loved this card.

Rob,
Is the "S" on that Snodgrass written in by hand? I picked up the "Nodgrass" variation too in a T206 lot where the "S" was written in in the period.

Thanks, guys! This was a really satisfying addition. But I don't think I'll feel "complete" without a Cobb....

Hey Jim,

At first glance it looks like it could be written in, but under close scrutiny I am almost certain the "S" was not written in.

Any leads? Do you know if one even exists?

Lordstan 05-28-2010 10:51 PM

T206 collector,
That is a beautiful card. I'm sure you had to give up quite a lot for it.
Congratulations are definitely in order.
Mark

Leads, no. But I know of a few that exist. Not surprisingly the owners want nothing to do with getting rid of them any time soon!

But I'll make it worth their while!

Back is pretty rough and it's got the hole in the top of the card, but that's probably the only reason I could afford it :p . The color and front of the card is gorgeous in my opinion. I'll probably send it off to SGC just to have it in the holder. I know almost nothing about vintage grading, but I'd bet the best I could hope for is a 10, but it'll probably be an A.....or is it possible it wouldn't grade?

I'm normally not as big a fan of most of the T206 portraits, but I loved this one. I'm hoping to pick up a Hal Chase pink backround portrait as well as it's one of the few other portraits I like.

rholmes 05-29-2010 08:31 AM

Walsh is my favorite t206 portrait as well. Your front actually is pretty nice. The hole just gives it flavor...looks like someone took a shot at him...and missed! :) Not to mention I like the idea of some kid pinning Ed Walsh to his wall way back when. You are now a keeper of that legacy.
