Hey Val, how can I beyou when I am beme? Those are great cards, and I suggest that you also put them in my newly created Walter Mails Game card appreciation thread.

Can someone post that Melchior with the (ahem) alternate text?

Here you go...the D311 Melchoir with the T212 1911 Obak-esque back with alternative text.

I love the 1971 WS card of Robinson alone in the dirt smothering another Cincy potential hit. He was a man on an island no one could come close to his fielding in that Series. It's a dramatic photo I think.

To the original poster, the Schmidt is half of a photo with Harry Davis sliding in. I always thought it was cool that both cards were in the set.

Ditto. Especially as a kid, I marveled at how much ground Brooks was covering.

That's cool, I never realized that.

I know, it's not a baseball card, but I did think of the 1986 Fleer Basketball Kelly Tripucka ... his "balls out" hustle was pretty evident that day.

Cobb's pose is sliced off a cameo with Commissioner Landis. The only thing worse than the Landis serious face is the Landis smiling face!

I gotta go with the 1951 Bowman Paul Richards.

There are some truly awful images in this thread. Here's one I despise, not because it's a contender for the worst image ever, but because it's by far the worst looking card in a set that is filled with perfect images.

The somewhat nice thing about cards in the D381 set is that they depict the unvarnished truth about the player's appearance. But sometimes this approach backfires, as is seen in the D381 of Egan. Compare this with the T206 of him, and in this case I prefer the sugar coated T206 version.

I couldnt disagree more on the 73 Clemente. I think it's an awesome image, especially considering it's his last card and he's in shadow like that. It's almost.. poignant.

The 1958 Brooks Robinson was the fiorst card that came to mind. haha. I mean cmon, seriously Topps??

Seems like it would have belonged on a Garbage Pail Kids card from many decades in the future :D . That said, I might have to find one of these just because of the photo. I wonder if any of his other cards have photos as bad, sheesh.
