EXCITING day at the PO Box TODAY!

Picked up some really nice cards for my Chicago Cubs Team card set, a couple very nice additions to my Salutation Exhibits set & 1 more for my Billy Williams Master set!

DBesse27 06-23-2016 12:31 PM

That Transogram Billy is a huge card!

Exhibitman 06-23-2016 12:53 PM

1968 Atlantic Oil Tommy Davis SP. This was the card needed to complete the run for the $100 second prize. Very tough to find any prize winners. This is my 2nd in 30+ years of chasing the set.

Adam, that is a sweet Tommy Davis card! Just proves somewhere out there that there are some of thes Atlantic Oil SP's floating around yet.

Definitely the most impulsive card purchase I've made, but that centering... crazy!
I don't regret it, but I also need to be saving for the National. Seriously thinking about consigning it. It's more card than I can handle! :D

Simpatico rose!

The Atlantic Oil is indeed a frustrating set. I have most if not all the non short prints, and just gave up looking for the SP's. Where did you find Tommy Davis?

Great Cards guys! I'm super pumped on this one, my best submission and top Mantle

Great job on the Mantle! Here's an odd one, a misprint C. 1960's Souvenir Shop Postcard of Sandy Koufax.

Exhibitman 06-26-2016 08:10 AM

I found the 1968 Atlantic Oil on eBay. Just stumbled across a fresh listing with a BIN.

Johnny630 06-26-2016 10:45 AM

Thanks JB. That's a cool postcard of yours! Looks like Sandy is really young in that picture.

Was able to replace my former PSA 6 with this PSA 5.5 that looks sharper than the former and is almost perfectly centered. May have to send this one in for review

Neal 06-26-2016 02:06 PM

Nice Jackie!
Love that card!

Just received this back from PSA. It's the first one ever graded.

Picked this "4" up recently due to the stimulation of an 8x ebay bucks offer ...nicer than some of my 52 PSA 5s. My 18th 52 Hi# PSA 4 or better as I am now 78 cards (all His) away from completing this set.

Nice card!

Out of curiosity, what do you think mine would grade at?

After I posted the pic and was able to compare them, I thought the same thing.

Thanks :)

This one just came in. My first PWCC win despite it being about the 100th of his auctions I've bid on. It turns out I actually knew the consignor, another Net54 member, but he didn't know I was looking before sending it off.

Very nice, Mantle! :)

Johnny630 06-28-2016 08:10 PM

Super sweet 65 Mantle! One of his best from the 60's, if not the best, IMO.

Neal 06-29-2016 07:47 AM

The first addition to a "nicer Cubs" project that I've decided I'm working on. Due respect to Ernie, but Santo is my favorite vintage Cub. Tons of grit and determination. The only thing keeping this from a 7 I believe is a slight diamond cut - which is apparently more common with this card than I realized...

Would agree one of the best, because of the '65 set and design. Would not necessarily agree that's the best picture of Mantle's career, lol. Looks like he may have spent some time at Toots Schor's the night before. ;-)

Thanks guys, the 65 one of my favorites of his 60s cards, along with the 60 and 62. Not sure if he's hung over or squinting because of the sun, but it would have been better with his eyes open.

My 61 arrived today.

I do not normally buy autos, but the card was nicely centered with an attractive auto and it cost me about what a well-centered 5 (no auto) sells for, so i went for it.

KCRfan1 06-30-2016 05:29 AM

Nice pick up Orly!
