Only took forever to arrive, but at last I have one of my favorite cards in the world centered...

Awesome card Matt. We both love centered cards.

MattyC 06-10-2014 10:13 AM

Thx, Dean. Your T206 Cobb Red Portrait and Walter Johnson Portrait are among my favorites cards in the viewable galleries. Full bordered and insanely centered. Your Goudey Gehrig is equally impressive for its clarity and bold, vibrant color. Big fan of your collection.

Todd--Great job on the Sunday run. I like your customized screw downs better than the SGC holders.

Been wanting this pose for while (Collins just looks so young and goofy... definitely a rookie), happy to pick this one up on eBay. My first E101.

Team PC

Jeff (Bicem), my new Seattle bud..you may be convincing me to try adding a few postcards to my collection...that pair is SICK!

Good thing I have such great willpower. I've been known to resist everything except temptation.

Those team composites are tempting!

My thanks to Tim for this beautiful Admiral Schlei factory 649 overprint. The scan doesn't do this card justice.

These aren't all from June, but are me latest from the past few weeks. Two more HOFers for my T206 set, a few HOFers for my newly started '33 Goudey set, and 6 new for my E121-80 set (Scott is a Type 2 back and Kerr is a Type 3):

I don't know how to tell you this Raymond, but I think SGC got the flip mixed up. And the card.

clydepepper 06-14-2014 12:57 AM

Please Elaborate:

It is a T205 - exactly what is in question?

I accidentally hit the edit button that I have instead of the quote button...that is why there is an edit in your post. Sorry about that.

At any rate I think he is talking about the older version of the flip...not that something is incorrect on it.

I was just referring to the fact that you mention Walter Johnson, then picture a Matty. I probably missed something. It's a really nice card - great pickup.

He said here's a Matty to match my Johnson, and then clarified to match his Walter Johnson...rather than his member. It was pretty funny actually.

frohme 06-14-2014 08:29 AM

Matty & Johnson

Exactly! Now if Raymond would have been showing a card of Walt Masters - if there even is one - it would have been funny even without the clarification.

Congrats! and Thanks!

Erik- congrats on the Babe Ruth pickup....GREAT CARD! I had an ungraded one a decade ago and donated it to the Hall-of-Fame for which I received a lifetime pass.

Kevin - Thanks for the first Chico Escuela reference I have seen in years! Hilarious!!

Enjoy!!

Sherman nice 210s but you picked the two toughest series to collect (4 and 6). Good luck with them!

Thanks, Raymond!

Walter Thomas Masters is definitely the one I was referring to, and certainly not a "Diamond Great" with a 0-0 W/L% and 21 IP over 8 games in 3 separate visits to the bigs with Wash and Phil in '31, '37, and '39.

Surprised anyone bothered to make a card of him... but thanks!
