There is not one person who buys and sells tobacco cards...that does not or would not know the value of or look up the value of a Wagner prior to trying to sell it.

Not long ago he posted 10 t cards for sale.

End of story.

ChiefBenderForever 02-19-2013 10:19 PM

S#%^ like this is what I really miss about the hobby, priceless !!

Runscott 02-20-2013 09:53 AM

The part that has me laughing my butt off, is the reflection of his empty hand in the mirror. He must have spent hours practicing positioning his hand, when all he had to do was hold anything that was the same size, and paste the Wagner scan over it.

If I had John's photoshop skills, I'd put a banana in it.

I don't often laugh but this one was BAD... In a good sense of the word ;)

To me it makes sense that he is willing to sell this one.
I see that he has a better one in the background of the photo. It also looks like he has the original image...

Clutch-Hitter 02-20-2013 11:21 AM

I'm guessing heroin.

ScottFandango 02-21-2013 02:43 PM

gotta love how the SGC case is PERFECTLY squared to the camera...everything in that picture is disheveled except the card...

Andrew from TN

I actually met Andrew in person and traded with him a couple times in person. He has always been straight with me. I'm not sure if the Wagner thing was just a joke or whatever but the guy is a legit buyer and seller And to whoever posted the pic with him holding the Mona Lisa. AWESome. Funniest thing I've seen on this site yet

It's a joke but he wasn't intending for it to be. He intended/s to rip someone off. Also, either he or the Nun's on national media are telling a story about it's history. I have my money (philosophically speaking) on the Nun's for telling the truth about it. That being said, I understand he has done quite a few good deals with forum members. No one, nor I, can figure out why this whole Wags debacle. It defies logic.

I spoke with him on the phone. He had the same story. I think several other board members have spoken with him and met him in the last several days. Same story.

I have said it before...often con men create a seemingly honest persona (thus the word confidence men...they gain your confidence first) and then go for the big score...I feel that this might be the case.

Isn't that what the guy did on another card forum the other month. Had good deals and sold many items. But then he stole like $20,000 ++ from people one the forum and disappeared.

npa589 02-21-2013 06:08 PM

Well, should we submit him to the "World's Dumbest Criminals?"

The empty hand in the mirror is enough to justify that qualification...

I suppose picking an item that is tracked, whose owner is known, and the provenance of which contradicts the "Con man's" claim is not too brilliant either...

Yes, the forum for a card retailer, rhymes with No Doubt, a guy was doing grab bag deals and took the money and ran. He did many, many small deals leading up to it.

Runscott 02-21-2013 06:12 PM

Warning - do not meet this guy in person.

Seriously, if he is willing to meet you in person, and we already know that he does NOT have the card, nothing good can come from such a meeting. My best guess is that he's desperate for money (bad drug deal, gambling, who knows?) and this is a random shot he's taking. You knock on his door and there's no telling what's waiting for you.

lsutigers1973 02-21-2013 06:40 PM

Anyone know his eBay ID?

thehoodedcoder 02-21-2013 07:29 PM

where do you seen an empty hand in the mirror. i honestly see quite the opposite. i see the top of a card holder.

I've seen some funny s**t on this Board over the years. But, the photo of Mona with the accompanying line sets a new standard. Nice job.
