That Ten Million looks great for an SGC 10. What knocked it down so low? Great pick up.

Thanks! Unfortunatley back damage with some paper loss. But the front is great along with its borders so it displays nice. I had a tough time finding another, so this one fits the bill.

Hey Phil,
Lol I'm sure it would look good in your collection. I saw yours, which was the only other known PC which was an SGC 50. The one I picked up was the SGC 60 in Goodwin last year. Amazingly, the 2 I've added cost me a lot more than 15k per PC if you can believe that, as Ruth anything has skyrocketed. Especially, the really rare items.

Hey Pete, this is Joe T. and I wanted to congratulate you on those awesome Babe Ruth postcard pickups. I originally owned the "hands on hip" one before selling it to Jeff earlier this year. Super investment card, especially considering the excessive demand for early Ruth memorabilia. Enjoy!

Hey Joe! Thanks for the post and I wouldn't have any of these without you and Jeff. Also, thanks for all your input and friendship the past few years.

Picked up a Blue Jocko Conlan Diamond Matchbook to go with my Red one... Also picked up a lot of 52 of the 1930 Blue Ribbon Cubs/White Sox cutouts(not quite sure what the top 2 in the last pic are, I'll post better scans once they're in hand).

Eugene, I lost out on your green Cobb by $4.06, I was the other bidder. I was out by the time it ended thinking I had it, but no and here it is to remind me to have buy an I-phone. Good pickup!

I'm glad you don't have an I-Phone (luckily I was home b/c I don't have an I-Phone either). It seems like they don't pop up in poor condition at auction that often.

3 cards, 3 upgrades and 2 from the Sun Times show. The show was as small as Ive ever seen, very little pre WW, less kids and overall disappointed. I did get to know Andy G, Matt (kzoo) and Bill (dont know screen name or last name) better and enjoyed the day with these characters!

joeadcock 11-18-2012 05:12 AM

Hello rainier

Where is SunTimes show at?

I live on west coast mid Fla and dont get to go to any of these type of shows. Would be great to go to smaller shows and meet some of the net54ers.

Mike Ryan

Real nice cards. One of the most beautiful to look at sets out there. Look so much better high grade.

rainier2004 11-18-2012 07:51 AM

Its in Chicago, every year the week prior to Thanksgiving and again in the Spring. I think 400 tables seems to be the concensus guess, but this year seemed much lower for whatever reasons. Only found 2 tables with Cracker Jacks, tons of 1960s stuff. Up here Chicago and Cleveland is our only action. I was thinking of starting to venture to Pittsburgh or Philly.

Which Cleveland action do you speak of? I'm way out of the loop, but aside from the one big April show, what else is usually in this area?

That was about it and the National. 1-2 shows/year is rare for us. I havent been to a show in Michigan in years.
