I really love your art. I have been wanting to try my hand at something like this since seeing yours. I know I just don't have the patience (nor the artistic talent) to do it justice. I just think it would be a fun use of a bunch of cards that will have no future value and I think my children would love doing this with me.

Another commission in the books! I also expect to have a Cracker Jack Cobb finished in the next couple of days.

Tim outstanding as always I really like both of the new commissions. The owners are very lucky. Thank you for posting them.

Getting sloppy over there, Tim. ;) |
I saw a link to an article the other day talking about things to do with worthless 80's-present cards and tim was mentioned...and I must say your work has dramatically improved since your earliest of works! The ryan is AWESOME!!!!!!

"Charles Conlon"; 40"x 30"; Cut early 90's Sporting News Conlon cards; SOLD.
How about a little love for the photographer himself? After using those Conlon cards for the Jackie Bond Bread piece, I knew I had to get this done. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4145/...27570c3f_b.jpg |
Tim,
Have you reached out to players and shown them the art work you have done? It's very impressive, and I would think they would believe the same. |
Incredible work Tim! This is museum quality material.

Omar and his commission: https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4015/...cd55dc52_m.jpg Andre Dawson stopped at the UD booth during the Fall Expo in Toronto. We talked for a couple days, and then afterwards by phone and email. That's great to see your work has been recognized and adored by the players!
You definitely have some talent! Thanks for sharing. :) |
This stuff is just so far beyond the pale amazing. My god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Standing ovation follows.)
|
These are unreal. They are more impressive to view than the actual iconic cards themselves...

This is a great idea with some cool results. Have you ever used a single card to make that same card? For example, using a pile of the "regular" Fleer Ripkens (none of the rare variations) to make a large version of the FF card?
|
If it wasn't so much work, I think it would be great to use junk era commons to make a giant junk era common. Love your work.

I can't wait to see the 1987 Topps card. That was my favorite year for collecting and the set I have way too many cards of still. So you taking a large group off the market while making a giant 1987 Topps, makes me a happy soul.
|
Tim,
your work is absolutely awesome! Unique. Beautiful. Pretty much perfect. THANK YOU for continuing to post your work... maybe someday, I'll be able to get one made for me... but in the meantime, keep going! All the best! |

I'm almost finished with my 1987 Topps common commission, but I finally got around to finishing something I was working on "just because." Cut 2010-2013 A&G commons and cut 1982 Topps commons. 16.5" x 29"

One of my favorite threads ever.

Wish I was at the National this year, but since I'm not......might as well get some work done! I'll have the 1987 Topps common uploaded Saturday evening (it is being given as a gift that morning). Also just finished this one - my version of the 1948 Leaf Jackie Robinson:

I know you have a "regular" job, but I have to think the National would be a great investment for you.

Really Tim, 40 years from now, when you look back on life, are you going to wish you spent more time with your family, or with a bunch of guys who collect little pieces of cardboard? Priorities man. :)

Hi Pete,
That Jackie looks spot on. Great work as usual. Enjoy your family |

Not a classic, but I had a ton of fun with this commission.....1987 Topps Mookie Wilson. For 99% of the piece, I used 1987 Topps commons.
https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4308/...b533fc55_o.jpg |
woulda been wild to make it out of just mookies, I notice he makes at least one appearance on his collar.
|
Finished with another.....
Started rolling on this one, and just couldn't stop. I have a feeling I will complete many more renditions from the 1964 Topps Giants set before I am done. This Clemente measures 20" x 28", and is available:
https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4339/...ab3a10d1_c.jpg |
Tim do you have any pieces for sale or is just about everything you do commission work now? I can't imagine you having any in inventory for long?
Is is okay to ask what the general cost of one of these pieces would be? Say a "somewhere between $50 and $50 million", but maybe narrowed down a bit more? ha ha I went through this thread for the 3rd time today, page 1 to the end. I'm still amazed at what I see! |
