Here's another Collegiate of Ames pennant by Arthur Evans...on ebay and not listed under sports stuff...cheap! :D

I don't believe this school exists anymore.

Spotted this on tonight's episode of Mad Men. Don Draper found it folded under the a/c unit, looked at it briefly, then tossed it aside. Later in the episode, it's tacked up on his office wall.

I thought maybe that was a studio prop because I've never seen a pennant of that style.....then I found it in Mike Egner's book :D. Kind of a goofy pennant IMHO.

I did the same thing as you and looked it up in Mike's guide before posting :) Could very well be both. Typically, they are very good with researching props that are appropriate for the time depicted on that show, but I figure they wouldn't be above reproducing one if an original was not readily available.

The Mets is not a studio prop pennant. It's not that uncommon, and I recall seeing that one long before the show Mad Men was even a concept.

If the plot is taking place in the early '60s, I think they actually picked a decent Mets Pennant to portray.

I actually recently sold a Mets pennant like that on EBay last fall. It didn't have any staining, but it was the exact same one. I sometimes wonder where some of it ends up, but that would have been a little surprising.
