Hey 52T collectors!
3 Attachment(s)
Anybody here pick up that #192 Ginsberg in the GMcards auction last night? It is a very nice card and I got outbid quite a bit!
I have been out of town the last two weeks so I have not been able to keep up on posting. Here are a few "highlights" of what I missed out on showing. P.S. I expect most of you know this, but Sibby Sisti had a role in The Natural, playing the manager of the Pittsburgh team that played Hobbs' New York Knights for the championship. |
Welcome back Al. We discussed putting you on inactive status, so glad you showed up :)

For anyone working on the set, a lot of mid-grade high numbers in the current Mile High Auction

My 2 Walker Cooper's. The latest one, with the yellow ink splotch, caught my eye but I have no idea if it is unique or not? Judging by how cheap I got it, I assume not?
I named my son, Walker, and like Walker Cooper, he also goes by his middle name, Walker, instead of his first name William. My son thought that was pretty cool. :) |
Good one Dale
Dave---are those black printers marks of some kind on the bottom of yours ? |

Just a anomaly/print defect from the factory? I honestly don't think I've ever seen another one, that I can think of, on any 52's but maybe there is? |
:)

And my Ray Murray, who I vividly remember chasing and chasing only to constantly get out bid. A few weeks after I finally landed one, they seemed to pop more and more and for about half of what I paid. :(
The way it goes sometimes, I guess. |

End of the road...
The Dorish is the last card that I currently have for my '52 Topps set, so I won't be able to contribute any longer (unless I happen to pick up some high numbers before the conclusion of this thread).
I'll be looking forward to seeing everyone post their cards though! https://caimages.collectors.com/psai...547/img924.jpghttps://caimages.collectors.com/psai...547/img925.jpg |

Once we get into the highs I also won't be able to play along everyday as I am still short with completing the set as well, but like you, I am also looking forward to seeing other members cards. Sam Dente for today. |

Mr. Richards looks very pensive in his Topps 1952 pose, but I tend to think he was just wishing the picture would not turn out like his 51 Bowman ;)

#306 Lou Sleater w/o Mermaid
|
The mermaid is recurring but very scarce. Bob posted it in one of the variation threads awhile back. After that one popped up in a group of 52 low number ungraded commons in mid condition. The lot went for close to $ 300 I think. Bob created a market for it all by himself....well with some help from Daryl

Bob, if you're going to post the Campos with black star on back, you have to show the back as well. Otherwise, how do we know PSA didn't make a mistake. :)
