Re: Monster Number
How apropos. Congrats on the longevity of your brainchild, Frank.

Big thanks to Frank (joeadcock) and his daughter for sending my daughter #30 in her set....really cool....it made her day :D
Now to pay it forward! http://i.imgur.com/7E9Eqm1.jpg |
480
Finally hit 480 (All SGC50 or better).
It's taken 3 months to add 10. Getting difficult (and expensive) with 40 more to go. Ebay has been drought-like lately with actual auctions. |

That is an ambitious goal. Good luck. |

Just saw the post. What a cool picture and she looks happy as heck. As they say in that commercial:"PRICELESS". It all started with Jesus:beyond beyond better to give that to receive. |

I am now at 76 T206s. Here are a couple of recent additions.
I probably should have taken the time to reduce the size of these images. It is like they are taking over my computer. |
In 1984 my father's # would have been 1000. Does that count? :) Unfortunately, that was the year his entire T206 set was sold :( .

The memory of having 1000 is enough. |
I am up to 506 now thanks to some board members
I need 1 Sler ( Shag) 1 Hofer (Cobb bat off) not counting Wagner or Plank! My goal is to finish off the rest minus the big ones by the end of the year! CN |
Added two cards (Bescher portrait and Mowrey running). This puts me at 56.

Hi Frank
Just a small bump for me. Set 1 is now 325 and set 2 (PB) is at 100. Thanks Jantz |
Three more bits have found their way to Boca. This is getting to be too much like work:):D. My new MN is 487.9 Whew!!!!
Here is the three.... 314. John McGraw (Portrait With Cap) PB 249av. Red Kleinow (Boston) PB 143b. Joe Doyle (NY Hands Above Head) PB |
Frank - please put me down at 482. I've been distracted by upgrading some beaters in recent auctions when I should start going after some of the toughies. Go Blackhawks!
|
I enjoy reading this thread. It may sound strange but it makes me more enthusiastic about my own collection. When I see some of you getting near completion (520) it makes me realize that I can do the same if I am persistent. As always, thanks for sharing.

long overdue update... last post was 12/2011. Was at 346 then. Now 468. Def slowing down as harder and more expensive cards remain. But always encouraged by reading others' progress, please keep sharing.

Update me please:
I'm at 13 now.
All of mine are either graded or being graded and the lowest grades I own are SGC 40 and PSA 4.5 Since I really don't want lower grade cards, I know I will never complete the monster. It is still impressive to me, however, to see how many folks have gotten close. I guess it's kind of like the perfect-game or unassisted triple play of collecting. |
15 :/ its gonna be a long journey.

Remember you must raise or lower your Monster Number by at least 1 (one) to post on this thread ;););):D ..............................
or just have something interesting to say. |
Hi Frank,
I just added two to raise my number to 58. Thanks, Mark |

Finally cracked 400 and am now at 403. I may break the record for the longest to complete the set (assuming I get to my 518 goal). Got my first T206 in 1995. If I keep the same pace, my projected completion date will be December, 2019. Hopefully this thread will still be going then so I can announce the achievement. Frank, don't let it die
