Thanks Phil and Brian.
Yeah, Matty had definitely declined when this card was issued. Sure glad they used the photo they did. Made for an instant classic. |

Very nice Dean. Congrats! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Better quit while you’re ahead, Rob. Collecting any more Mays rookies after that one will be anticlimactic.

This weeks haul for September……..and I finally got a beautiful T206 Mathewson Portrait…….all I need is the white cap one. For a Grade 1 , this card presents well, great color, my photo here does not do it justice. BIG shout out to Evan Kendall on the Matty. He made this happen for a price I could afford Thanks Evan!
Best of luck to all on the REA and Heritage auctions ending Sunday……..lots of great cards being offered. |

New Pickup, Curious if anyone knows why these are considered 1933. Mickey Cochrane wasn't a Tiger until 1934.

This Paul Waner card was issued in Cuba, showing Waner as the manager of a U.S. minor league team. How cool is that. And Waner put himself in the lineup regularly in his year as manager. So that makes this Waner's last card as an active player. I never even knew that this card existed until I saw it in yesterday's Hake's auction.
|
That's an awesome Waner card! Congrats!

Also picked up another card I've been wanting for years, 1951 Bowman Ted Williams. . |
Awesome cards Andrew! Both look fantastic.

On the first day of my vacation, I was thrilled to find this circa 1890-1905 Villeroy & Boch pitcher in a local antique shop.

Music City Autograph Show Pickup
2 Attachment(s)
Found a dealer at the Music City Autograph show who had just purchased a lot of 1934-36 Diamond Stars and 1933 Tattoo Orbits from a family member of a 101 man who was the original owner of the cards. This show was the first time they were offered for sale to the public. Picked up a 1933 Tattoo Orbit of KiKi Cuyler for $100. Also got a 1934 Diamond Star of Mickey Cochrane. The Tattoo Orbit Cuyler is my first Tattoo Orbit card and first KiKi playing days card, so was pretty excited!

First September Pick-Up - 1912 C46 Imperial Tobacco James Walsh in a SGC 4. Walsh played a little in MLB, but played mostly in the International League, racking up some impressive stats. The 1912 C46 Imperial Tobacco is the only Canadian Tobacco set out there. I like Canadian cards, and happy that I can add this to the PC.
