Hi John, I hope you’re well. Yes it was a difficult decision made easier by the Uzit Cobb acquisition. I had no intention to sell it until Steve approached me right around the time the Uzit hit the market.

Again, a hearty congrats to Steve! A great great card but I’m getting old and slowing down and she’s just too much of a freak for me! I had to set her free.

There are actually 3 PSA graded Nadja Cobbs.

Welcome Phil to the Fenway Barker Baker club!

Frank's unibrow rivals Wally Moon's. I never noticed it on my card...perhaps your scan just brought it out in all its glory.

On June 2, 2008 I won a Police Gazette supplement of Al Bridwell on ebay, putting me one step closer to a complete set.

A couple days after I won, a guy on ebay sent me a note explaining his connection to Bridwell, asking if I would sell it to him. Being too nice for my own good, I said yes, selling it to him for the amount I had paid plus the postage to send it to him.

In the "no good deed goes unpunished" department, it took more than 16 years before I FINALLY found another Bridwell, so I'm again one step closer to set completion.

Still looking for :
1901 Matty
1904 WS Teams
1905 Chesbro
1907 Keeler / Kleinow
1909 Burch

The hunt continues,
Doug

That's a great piece. Is it dated anywhere, or am I just overlooking the date?

Thanks! Yeah, I noticed that, too. It is not dated. I have another one handwritten by Harry, and it is dated 1885.

I've been working on a Jersey City Skeeters prewar team collection for years and have been able to obtain just about all the obtainable cards out there, but still needed this 1909 Colgan's Chip of Abstein. I've been looking for one for years and just never saw one come up. I've posted in the BST here a few times over the years and never got a response.

Well, a couple months ago I tried it again and a board member reached out and said he had one that he would let go. Then I took a break from cards for a while (I didn't plan on it, just got really busy at work and sometimes just take a break for no real reason) and completely forgot that he and I had started talking about the Abstein. Then, when I came back to my cards and Net54, I remembered we had a conversation going and I reached back out to him letting him know I was still interested. He was kind enough to continue with our deal even though I basically ghosted him in the middle of it. And I am now the proud new owner of this baby! This was definitely the longest time a deal has taken me to seal (all my fault of course) but I want to shout out a huge Thank You to gentleman who put up with me and sold this to me. You're awesome man!

This completes my Colgan's Jersey City team set as well.

Non-sports, but these just arrived back from PSA and I'm very pleased with the grades. PSA has graded only 39 cards from the set, and both of these are technically PSA total pop 1's as they're the only blue-back versions graded. Of the 39 cards from this set graded, there's only one 7...no others higher than my six, and only one other six out there.

I think this came from Val on an eBay auction. For about half the price of an edible Goose, which happen to fit perfectly in my giant smoker!

These Kashin HOFers, like Goose here, are really growing me! They display great! I’ll probably add a handful of these guys since they are really cool dollar for dollar compared to more mainstream stuff right now.

Enjoy,
Bob

Yes, Bob, this card card of the "Goose" did come from me. And, thanks for the very nice eBay feedback. I look forward to seeing your additional Kashin acquisitions.

Thanks so much Phil! I was very excited to finish the Colgan's with this last one. Here are the cards I know of that I still need for the Jersey City team collection.

1889 N173 Old Judge Cabinets
Joe Gerhardt

1889 N172 Old Judge (these are all 1889 team change variations)
Joe Gerhardt, Bill Holbert, Tom O'Rourke

1909 D380-1 Clement Bros
Butler (wearing Jersey City uniform in image)

1912 E254 Red Borders
Hanford, Waller

1912-13 T215 Pirate Back
Billy Purtell

1913 E270 Tin Tops
Hanford (May not exist), Kelly, , Knight, Manser, Purtell, Viebahn

1915 T214 Victory Cigarettes
Wiltse

So you can see why I consider this Colgan's to be the last attainable card that I needed.

Nice card...looks like a partially erased number. One of the fun aspects of Diamond Stars cards are the backgrounds. This one of Bonura has the cool theme of picking out some lumber.

I resized the front to enhance its awesomeness, and then couldn't resist going nutty with resizing, creating a staircase of Bonuras.

Just got this guy in the mail! Pretty cool shelf sitter! Also the first Exhibit I’ve ever owned. Nice a crisp for a 1 price, as it has some glue on the back. Being glued up sure keeps those corners sharp.

Enjoy the weekend,

Before diving into such a project, I would assume a staircase of Bonuras is probably not up to code.

I looked at it again under magnification. It definitely looks like some kind of print anomaly and not an erasure. The surface is as smooth as the rest of the card.

From the scan it looks like a partially erased '50', but judging in hand of course is far superior.

Here’s a better pic. It’s some kind of printing scuff or weirdness, although it feels smooth.

I have always wanted one of these Novelty Cutlery PC’s. I had been trying to land a couple of the HOFers that came up this year, with no luck. I just stuck to it of this Chase, as I absolutely love the shot! I love the borders on these particular post cards, so cool!

It’s time to build a shelf for a couple of these bigger holders!
