Kind of a cool Willie Mays item. Program for his 1951 (early season) Minneapolis Millers. Photo of him as a Miller signed by Wlllie, certified etc. Now the bonus: Heritage did not mention or try to ID the other two players but the legend on the left, as I know, is.... Ray Dandridge. He hit .324 that year but famously never did get called up by Giants, which has become a famous lamentation....greatest player to never get the call....

Yep. 100% real. I block out the cert and grade most of the time when posting publicly. the cards can speak for themselves w/o some grader’s (especially PSA) opinion. In my opinion, the mays is undergraded while the Williams is overgraded. |

It's rare that I get to participate in this monthly thread, but I made some fun recent deals with my California friend Mike and his extensive PCL inventory, and also Sports Artifacts. To keep on topic with pre-war, a John "Monk" Sherlock Zeenut that I am told completed my 1933 sepia Hollywood Stars team set. Also, a nice selection of 1948 Signal Gasoline Oakland Oaks, in beautiful color photography 5 years before Bowman. Don't get too excited, though, because.... they're all trimmed! But, the 9 includes Casey Stengel, Billy Martin, and Ernie Lombardi!

Wasn't even after T205 Mathewson, but this just spoke to me at the price this past weekend from Sterling. Absolutely love the Polar Bear back complete with stains. Shoutout to Lee Behrens and Sterling Auctions, as this is in hand as of this morning. What a turnaround.

Great drum!
Tough cabinet combo. I don’t really collect 19th century but I like funky things that don’t pop up (and I cross two HOFers off my collecting list at once)! Attachment 622524 |

The WWG Hornsby was a recent PWCC auction pick-up. Very excited about that one, I have been looking for a nice Goudey or WWG copy and this one worked out.
The Bob Feller was a LCS find that I stumbled upon. Pretty card and I got it for a fair price, couldn't resist buying it. This is my first opportunity to share my pick ups with the Net54 community, looking forward to more in the future. |

May Pickup Thread
1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle.
Have wanted to own this card since picking up the Baseball Cards Dec. 1988 issue. Mantle isn’t even among my favorite players but something about this specific card caught my eye then & never left. Same exact feeling with his 1952 Bowman (& the ‘52 Topps Mays & #1 Pafko). https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...4f0d3031bc.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...d47d724a38.jpg |

Not my usual kind of pickup, but figured it might make for some good trading stock, for when I get to looking for a Drum or BL460 for the T206 HOF Backs Line. I’ve always wanted a Gehrig Kashin, but happy to hold this Ruth for a while.
Happy Memorial Day! Bob |
