One just like it, (if not the same one?) ended a week or 2 ago that I had my eye on but knew it would go for a handsome price. Surprised, after the fact, however, it didn't go for more. Congrats if you're the lucky winner. :) |

This must be Wehmeier week, because I just got one for my set as well. Mine's a little off-center T/B too, but I can live with it... :) |
Great copy Tom

Glad to read/see you were the lucky winner, Sean. Great looking card. :) Nice cards, again, Al and Tom. It's not too often (if ever?) that I've saw 2 great looking, centered, Wehmeir's back to back. |

I don't think we have a Jackie yet. A little high right, but not bad.

That's a handsome Herm. Well done!

Interesting! I didn't care about centering as a kid (when most of us were much smarter), so I still care not a whit about centering so long as a card isn't actually miscut (worse than 99/1). Centering seems to be more of a focus for American collectors overall than for Canadian collectors.
Nonetheless I'm delighted that so many of you other collectors have a keen interest in centering. It reduces the demand for well off center cards thus making off center cards available for me at cheaper prices! |

Note how the eye is immediately drawn to the razor-sharp lower left corner . |

It has some wrinkling in the lower left which can be seen on the right in the back scan but it's not too bad and is real hard to see on the front. I got it amazingly cheap, imo, (likely due to the wrinkling) but still surprised, tbh, I got it regardless. |

Here's my Jackie. It looks like it got rubbed on a sidewalk. And I say this from experience; not with this particular card, but I remember dropping cards when I was a kid and then sliding them across the pavement while trying to pick them back up.

At school, we also played "scramble" where some kid would just toss a bunch of cards into the air and the rest of us would try and grab as many as we could. The majority of the time it was done on asphalt too. |

I think you guys will appreciate this one. They're not all perfect 50-50, but they're all damn near impossible to find.

Crandall, Swift, Maxwell, Nippy, Chico and Rogovin. I was unaware, or never really paid much attention to Erautt, Byerly, Goldsberry and Post, tbh, despite mine all being OC. I honestly don't believe I've ever seen a perfectly centered Del Crandall card before? Most are OC or diamond cut it seems. Thanks for posting those up, Sean. Those are real nice. :) |
I really appreciate that, thanks Irv

There's been some very nice cards shared by several posters recently. Thanks to you all for showing them off!

Hello everyone!
Just now saw this post about 1952 Topps. My collection goes back to 1952, when I bought every 1952 Topps card I own. I was in an area where the 1st 2 series were the only cards we ever saw for sale, and for many yrs thought my set was complete at 250 cards. Here are just 6 cards I had graded many yrs ago, & my collection is still all original to from 1-250! |
Great cards Fred

Odd, you were able to get the cards you did and not the others but that seems to be the case with other collectors from that era too. I remember asking Tedz about the 1952 Topps Look N See cards and was surprised to read he had never seen a one during his early collecting days. I guess it's impossible to stock every city around the globe with cards so they most likely just went by previous sales/popularity from other companies on top of their own and based that on who'd get cards to sell and who wouldn't? |
Seeing cards this age that are still with the original owner is a special treat. Among other things, hey are especially vibrant. Thanks for sharing them.

THANKS for all the comments guys!
My opinion on who got Black Backs & who got Red Backs simply depended on the distributor to a given area at the time he ordered from Topps! |

I pulled a couple of pages at random from my nr-set to show you the overall quality of the cards I bought over 70 yrs ago! These are just as they came from packs--none have ever been upgraded.
