I scored the E135 Sisler at Clean Sweep the other night. Sorry no scan but one on Steve's site.

Good ol' Buck Barker didn't do his famous stats scribble on many T206s, so it's fun to find one once in awhile .................. ;)
Attachment 592256 Base Ball Reference shows no indication he played for KC; other teams/seasons correct. Also like how Fritz' middle name was completed later in the red ink ........ :) Oh, and Fritz did have Major League experience -- He pitched 3 innings for the Athletics in 1907 ....... :p Fun, fun, Scott  |
Great Ruth cards guys!!! Congrats!

A true bucket list card for me. I've wanted one of these for as long as I can remember, probably for 45 years. This completes my retirement gifts to myself. Thank you to Scott Brockelman.
|
Congrats Paul!
Congrats Paul on the Casey Stengel T210!
Patrick |
Nice Paul, somehow I think your retirement pick ups aren't done though.
|
Thank you Patrick and Phil. I'm truly on cloud 9 about getting this card.

Not a big card, but picked up a 60 Clemente off a board member at a small show in the Dallas area this weekend!
My first dip into vintage that is not T206. I feel like the dam just burst open into a new world I haven’t experienced and it’s awesome |
Brockelman Win
A very cool addition to my small but growing collection of T-card oddities:

Very excited to have snagged this in the Brockelman auction to add to my pre-war Memphis collection! Gives me at least one example from the 4 different card sets Memphis players were featured in (T206, T210, T211, T213)

The amazing thing is that I think most of us totally understood this post! Anyone not on the board would think it was some kind of code.

Congrats Jamie

Val, Jennings contamination would cause EE-YAH syndrome, which causes both arms to involuntarily shoot skyward while simultaneously one bent leg is thrust upward. So far there are no reports of these symptoms, but the FDA is looking into that as well.

I'm all for four really great 4s...great cards!

well that didnt post as expected - thought it would post under the Fritz card several posts above here - delete if necessary  (didnt see an option that i could delete myself)
dont know how much interest there is, but a quick newspaper search shows that a player named Fritz did play for Kansas City in 1912. The Kansas City Star March 7 1912 states 'Fritz, the Southern League southpaw...' The Kansas City Star March 29 1912 has a spring training boxscore between Waco and Kansas City with Fritz pitching. A really interesting article from The Kansas City Star April 17 1912 about 'roomies' names mentioned are Fritz, Andy Oyler, Johnny Corridon and Nick Maddox (per baseball reference Maddox was with KC in 1912, Corridon and Oyler were not) records printed in The Kansas City Star August 21 1912 has Fritz with 1G, 0W, 1L, 4R, 3H 2.2IP no longer with the team |

I love any history that can add to a card. Player's history (no matter how famous or forgotten they are) is a major reason I (and I'm sure others) enjoy this hobby so much ...... :) Since it was a Spring training game, Fritz must have been on KC roster (with Buck Barker noting that). He ultimately played for New Orleans in the 1912 season. One would have to assume (:o) he was traded to NO by season's opening. Oh, and to keep with Pick Up thread ..... Many thanks to Luke for making this "classic pose" T207 Cycle available ..... No. 43/51 BL series ..... ;) Attachment 593156 Check out Balding's nick name ............... :p Fun, fun, Scott  |

The Brockelman auction allowed me to finally finish my T210-3 Houston set. Burch is tough because he also comes in Orange, which I guess means that there are fewer (than normal) red copies and somewht higher demand due to people who collect the orange subset (in both red and orange).
I really enjoyed looking through the T210 results in that auction. I'm not expert on the set, but it's clear from the prices that there were some that are awfully hard to find. |
