The Cool Houston Stuff episode is spectacular!

I see you are now sporting a TSOG polo shirt. Big timer!

I really liked the video of Jimmy Wynn’s HR onto the freeway in Cincinnati. I saw my first MLB game at Crosley Field. I can still remember the impossibly green grass and the freeway. BTW, the Giants destroyed the Reds that day.

Well Rob, you have reminded me of that before.... As a Reds fan, you're forced to develop a thick skin. As a kid, I saw Lee May and plenty of opposing players flirting with that freeway, but none that actually made it. Jimmy Wynn's blast was epic!

Not sure how I've missed it but I'm just seeing this thread today. The videos look really well done. I just subscribed and am looking forward to checking this channel out.

Thanks Paul...

Much appreciated. It's been a bit of a struggle to reach the level of subscribers we were shooting for... we just recently cleared 300 on YouTube. But we're learning as we go, and just started linking the videos on Instagram.

Here's a link to the Instagram page...

We really appreciate your support!

Somehow, I missed the Tobaccoiana from nine days ago. Stellar stuff!

Much appreciated, Rob... Thanks for watching, and for stumping the spell-check Gods with "Tobaccoiana".

Turns out there was more than anticipated, and the length dictated that we split it into 2 episodes. So there will be a "Part 2" in the not too distant future.

For anyone that wants to see Baseball & Tobacco Part 1, here is a link....

I loved Tobacciana, Part 2. Your one statue reminded me of the "husky" batter on the 1970's Brewers pennants. Also, you've probably seen these, but here's a 1950 cigarette pack protector. This, and all the schedule lighters I have, made tons of sense....everybody smoked, so everybody could keep track of their team's schedule.

That’s beyond cool, Rob…

Would love to find a Reds version if one exists. They must be super-scarce, as I have never seen one. Thanks for showing that!

Mark,

I’ve been able to view a few and the information is extremely interesting. I’ll be back for more when I have the opportunity.

Suggestion - Orioles items 😍

Thank you Mark!

Much appreciated, and we will eventually get to some cool Orioles stuff for sure!

The latest installments were great. A little heavy on D**gers, but still great.

Phillies Cigarette holder

Hi Guys:

here is my 1950 Phillies cigarette pack holder

perezfan 05-29-2024 07:02 PM

Don't fret, Rob... We'll cover some cool Giants stuff before too long :)

And Fred... Ahhhh 1950, when virtually everyone smoked! But you never see that item, so I guess it's safe to assume that they were made in very low numbers. Awesome piece!

As an update on the channel, we've recently featured some cool game-used "type" jerseys. Last week's segment focused on the Athletics...

This week, it is the Dodgers (including a rare Home Satin...)

And next week will be the Cardinals (please stay tuned).

Many thanks to all who tune in and subscribe!

Yours is 1950. My Giants is 1950. Inside the Park has a 1950 Dodgers in their current auction. Were these a 1950 only thing? :p

I would guess "yes" for this particular style (other types were obviously made throughout the years). Here's a link to the Dodgers version in ITPC....

It's interesting that Fred's Phillies version has the team's facsimile signatures on the reverse, while the Dodgers version has the team's 1950 Home Schedule.

What about yours, Rob? Does it have the players' signatures, their home schedule, or something different?

Would love to find a Reds version, if they even made one!

Go eight posts back, Mark.

8 posts??? That's a whole different page! You are asking a lot of this rapidly decaying old brain. :o

Okay, so yours has the Giants' schedule. I wonder how uncommon Fred's might be (with the sigs) and whether the manufacturer charged the same for both options. Seems like replicating all the signatures would be the more difficult process.

Just another question that will forever remain a mystery on the memorabilia side of things.

Looks like you and Bart have been taking acting lessons. Are you doing dinner theater in addition to TSOG?

GoCubsGo32 07-10-2024 10:40 AM

Keep up the great work & videos! Cheers!

perezfan 07-10-2024 10:55 AM

I don't think that any acting coach would take us on, as most have a reputation to uphold. ;)

This latest segment was Bart's idea (in the spirit of a classic David Attenborough Documentary). I cannot claim any credit or responsibility for this one!

Just trying to keep it entertaining in addition to informative. Thanks for watching...
