I’d say a total PSA pop of 17 is pretty rare. Maybe I was wrong with it being the most scarce exhibit issue but it is rare for sure Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Meanwhile, the PSA 10 1986 Fleer Jordan closed at $204,000. That’s tied with one in Goldin last month for the lowest sale in 2022, down from a 2022 peak of $360,000 in January, and down from $450k in April of 2021. Ruth Champions Exhibit is up 55.5% in 14 months, while 1986 Jordan PSA 10s are down 54% over the same time period. Hmmm….. |

Ruth and some others definitely bucking the market trend. The 21 exhibit of Ruth finished very strong as well nearly 9k for a PSA 1. Wow Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Those were nice looking cards; glad to see collectors are buying the card raterh than the holder. The poor condition 1928, which looked like a 1 card, went for $3,012. To me that's even more impressive.

I was exploring the ideal of going Ruth, but tried to go under radar on the 1925 W504 toy novelty Yankess card (Gehrig RC) with Ruth
Nevertheless, i just placed a bid and went to sleep and got nabbed in extended bidding. Didnt know this item existed. Maybe someone here got it. I viewed the whole Goldin prices the other day, as mentioned the Jordan card may be experiencing a adjustment to the 85 Star card grading opening back up, thus making it the RC to have. Hate to hear what prices are at the Nationals. |

must be Pete--- i went to sleep at 6pm EST and it was at 1500 or so (me as high bid)
things got crazy near the 10 pm close time. Can't believe it went for 5K+ WOW! and it was just the top card portion, not the whole thing. But i been told if i see something unique like that to bid on it! Most likely i wont see another in a long time. As far the Exhibits cards, i never really bit the bullet on these things. I guess its more a post card thing and oversized. I missed the boat on the Gehrig of course. I had 707sportscards on Ebay and had offer near the 4k price he had on Ebay. Still look back on it. Dont get me wrong guys, i do like the images of Ruth as well. More in favor of the batting pose. And always loved the red Goudey too! |
Every once in a while an item will slip through the cracks for me. The 1925 Novelty Yankees team yesterday sure slipped through. I somehow missed it. Anyway, congrats to whoever won it.

Sorry that was me on both the 1928 Ruth and the 1925 Ruth.
I paid up to get what I wanted/needed for my collection. I thought the prices were a bit strong but it is Ruth But it is what the market wanted because I know several other bidders were bidding with me until I was the lucky one I liked the look, I liked the rarity, it helps my goal of trying to get 1 card from each year Ruth played(working on the 20's now), and I like the poses. |
Nice pick ups Jeff! Now I see the full picture - you get 3 Ruth’s, I get a rare Wagner, and Goldin/Consignor are happy. I like our deal even better now. Well done!

Nice pickups, Jeff. I also want to do a Ruth run from each of his playing days years, but the Boston days are holding me back. :)

It's an interesting run to go after. I've thought of doing an Exhibit run but the 1923 is the 800# gorilla of that effort. |

I'm just happy to have a few crappy strips of the babe in a boston uni!!!! |

and I am not saying it will be easy just that it is my goal. And at Ruthian Prices it will take a while. |
just saw a really nice PSA 3 Exhibit Ruth ending in PWCC Premiere auction soon. Unfortunately for me now is not the time but seems like a great buy currently sitting at $15600

Great topic and discussion this thread has turned into! Both are amazing pieces, seems the 21 Exhibits is blowing up quickly as of late. The 21 in PWCC ended up at 22,800 last evening 😯 WOW.

1933 Goudey Ruth #144 or 1921 Exhibit Ruth?
Also while the 21 exhibit was ending at PWCC a nice SGC 3 144 goudey Ruth was ending at heritage. It was a really nice dead centered example. $15600 was its closing price

Bump for more feedback and opinions. This is a great thread.

In my humble opinion, Exhibits are one of the few great buying opportunities in the current vintage market. There are some fantastic photos, at a fraction of the price of other contemporary cards, and a fraction of the population. All I need to do is find one... |
