Left handed thrower Vander Meer JDM model glove and 1941 Play Ball card. Glove is missing the web, but that is easy enough to resolve.

Nice pickup. I'm glad to see that you were the one that got it. I had this on my watch list, but the lack of the web prevented me from pulling the trigger in spite of the beautiful condition of the mitt. I'm sure that you know that this was Vandy's personal endorsed glove (JDM) that came in this glove box. |
Vandy
Scott,
I have been dying for one of these since I saw your incredible display that featured one. Would kill to find a box like yours. Dave Grob |

I'd be honored to keep an eye out for one of these boxes to complete the set. ;) Stay tuned... |
Vandy
Scott,
That would be incredible, but I'll try not to get my hopes up. Dave Grob |
Lelands just sold one of those boxes recently. I was an underbidder mostly interested in the gambling letter sent to Ban Johnson. Such an odd grouping.

First full tickets I've seen from these games. Was able to get day 4 as well. Wichita Boeing Bombers won the series led by Wichitan and MVP Daryl Spencer.
|
Cool ticket, Clint. I've never heard of the Global World Series.

One thing I noticed was how disappointed he was on missing out on the 54 series due to military service. |

A cool Yogi Berra bat from the 60s.

Signed contract from a league that never actually played a game. The International Girls Baseball League. May be the only one that exists.

Spalding Base Ball Goods Sign

Extremely pleased with this piece. Measures 15" x 20"
|
Love it Mike!! You are becoming the King of Spalding. The sign is about 1900 to 1905. Where did you pick it up?
|
Thanks Joe! :)
Here is the link for more details of the sign I posted awhile back asking for water damage help http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=238299 |
Oakland Raiders First Game Program
1 Attachment(s)
Was happy to pick up this football program from the Raiders first regular season game on Sep 11, 1960 vs the Houston Oilers. As there were only 12,000 in attendance that day, I suspect there are not too many of these around.

Love this piece. Surprisingly large at 12 1/2 x 22 1/2.

Latest pick up. Tidewater Tides jersey, this is a 1969 or 1970 NY Mets flannel jersey recycled to the minors. Seller claims jersey was worn by Tim Foli his only year in Tidewater 1970.

Beautiful Jersey!

I've been looking to add one of these to my collection for a while. I finally found one within my budget. It served to take a bit of the sting out of my derailed National plans.

Was able to cross two tickets off my list for a total of 50 bucks, which also checked off the box of being cheap right now. LOL
Anyway, got a season ticket for the newest 3000 hit club member, and a 1971 all star game stub. The stub is a bit rough, but actually will display much better than the picture shows. The 71 all star game was the second AS game that I remember watching as a kid, and also the game that Reggie really took the national stage with his homerun that hit the transformer on top of Detroit stadium. |

This Cubs mini in pristine condition, that was very fairly priced, was my most exciting pickup from the National. :D
While there were quite few pinbacks at the show, to my knowledge there wasn't a single Cubs/Tiger pin I wanted/needed available for my collection. I do really like this Newark Bears pin that I picked up for a bargain price. I also picked up a Redwings nodder and a couple old University of Michigan pinbacks for my daughter |
Great pickups Mike, great to see you there as well.
