Just back from PSA, a tough 1968 Red Barn of the "Spider"!
|
Yet another card I've never seen before. Incredible.
Nice pick up on that Red Barn. |
A couple Mantle upgrades just arrived for my run. If anyone is looking for SGC graded Micks I now have centered examples of 55B & 66T available!

Just won these 2 cards minutes ago.
My second Spahn and my first Snider and Hodges card. Just wish I could say I had both the Snider and Hodges cards in my 52 Topps set. Some day! :) |
The 51 Bowman Spahn is a masterpiece - nice add!

I noticed it last night from a guy I purchase from quite often and I just had to have it. Although I don't use a sniping service, judging by the amount of last second bids, I may have just beat one out? I actually didn't think I won it as the post went all funny/blurry/notchy as I put my max bid in in the dieing seconds. When things settled/cleared up, I was really glad to see I actually won it! :) |

As a kid I loved the Kellogg's 3D baseball cards. I hate to think how many boxes of cereal I consumed building those sets. I recently came across this item on eBay listed as "Rare Willie Mays 1960's Figure Cut Out Magnet Back". Fortunately I have three other examples of Kellogg's production art. Due to this I was able to recognize this as the original artwork used to create the 1970 Kellogg's Willie Mays card. I made an offer and it was accepted. I am very pleased to add this unique piece to my collection.

A rarer/scarcer black back version. My first, I believe?
Slowly but surely picking away at my lower number set. |
2 more Micks arrived today thanks to a fellow board member. Another step closer to completing my dream run!

Been busy lately, with a mix of long-term wants and impulse pickups. Thanks to several board members for many of these additions.
The '60 Tommy Davis may seem a funny one, but an utterly impossible card to find perfectly centered made that one sweet nonetheless... Also, Mike: GREAT Mantle pickups as always. Your Mantle run just keeps getting better! |
I love oddballs and the Hires and Dan Dee are off the charts!
|
That Hank Aaron Root Beer card is a really nice treat to look at!
|
Been a LONG TIME since I've acquired anything...will lost this in the Mantle Thread as well.
Figured it would have graded higher, but the lower left corner killed it. The centering is an 8.5-9.0 imo. Other than that, thanks for the look gentlemen. http://i1248.photobucket.com/albums/...psnq8pt8oz.jpg |

Another black backed version. Just how rare/scarce are these in the low number set?
Glad to pick of this Page. :D |
February Pickups
Slowly still working on a '56 set. Always loved this card - one of the best showcasings of the old Brooklyn "B" cap logo. One of the classiest looking caps of all time, IMO - even though if you pay close attention there were tons of variations on it from the mid 1940's up until 1957.

These were all purchased in February but some just showed up today. The Thomson is a PSA 6, Wehmeier a PSA 5. Very pleased to finally add a decently centered Herm. Slowly filling some holes in that 1st series.

I agree, that Herman is a tough one. I've been looking/trying to obtain one for a while now. |
