As a quasi wrapper collector that wrapper is very cool. I don't think I have seen it before....

I got this 1933 R306 Butter Cream card of catcher Herold (incorrectly spelled Harold on the card) "Muddy" Ruel with the scarcer "Sept. 1st" back in last week's MHCC auction to join my example of this card with the easier "Oct. 1" back. Ruel spent the best 8 years of his 19-year MLB career with the Washington Senators, and one thing he is remembered for is scoring the winning run in the 12th inning of the 7th game of the 1924 WS, which provided Washington with its only WS Championship to date (maybe next year the Nats will win it!) and made WaJo the winning pitcher in relief. I love it when a pickup fits both my type-card collection and my collection of 1924 Senators players.

You got that at a great price. I thought about making a run at it if all my other lots got out of reach, but I ended up getting two, glad you got it. |
Yeah, I was shocked I got that Red Sun at "decent" price. I guess it's what you dream about in big auctions, that a piece you want just slips through cracks with so much else to bid on. Usually you hope and bid and then get crushed, but once in awhile you luck out. And luck is the key word.

Thank you. I was debating going after the D380-1 Pattee, but I didn't want to get into a bind. Congratulations on your two wins! |

The Pattee is cool, I love the ovals, but I love that name "Don Carlos Ragan." These were my wins, I already have Kelly in a Brunners and Marten, so now I need the Weber and General Baking: |

Beautiful T211 Red Sun
Greg,
Congrats on picking up a beautiful T211. I'm still waiting for one of the few catcher cards in the T211 set to add to my collection. Patrick |

Nice McGraw Eric...good season this year?!
What are the 6 you are missing? Are you going to display them? |
Thanks!

The ones I am missing are in my signature. Couple of tough ones for sure. I will definitely display them as I get closer. |

Very nice photo Leon, I love the old timey color on those!
Here are two that I am stoked about getting. My first Tolstoi (happens to be a portrait I needed!) and my first Johnny Kling for my back run! Hooray! NJ |
Upgrade of a 1934 Gold Medal Jack Burns PSA Uno
http://imagehost.vendio.com/a/204295...NGJACK_NEW.JPG
.. Wheaties premium ; postcard-sized but blank back ; Just bought the raw one at the bottom ; Irving "Jack" Burns of the St. Louis Browns ; five fewer tack-holes and an ounce less nicotine film... ..I can live with the thumb crease... .. |
1934 Gold Medal "Tex" Carleton
http://imagehost.vendio.com/a/204295...X_0002_NEW.JPG
....a master set of Tex Carleton cards shouldn't take eleven years....the postcard-sized '34 Gold Medal Wheaties premium , from when he pitched for the magnificent world champion Cardinals , is dwarfed by the Rochester Red Wings Team-Issued ; that's from 1931 possibly 1932 ? Somebody out there knows. Very large item and obviously difficult to keep in decent condition for all these years. He famously pitched a no-hitter in 1940 as a Brooklyn Dodger. .. |
1934 Wheaties Premium Gold Medal Foods Bill Walker
http://imagehost.vendio.com/a/204295...WALKER_NEW.JPG
..Top card is his 1936 issue from National Chicle , the "fine pens" set ;the horizontal is the new pick-up....the designation for the 1936 set is "R313" ....the Gold Medal Foods set is from two years earlier and is known as "R313A"...go figure...I love this hobby... .. |
Great pick ups, Mike!

https://scontent-mia1-2.xx.fbcdn.net...3b&oe=58C62A8A Henry bought 6 of the cards, so I still have 10. Probably going to go to PSA on my next renewal submission. Here are some others I bought this month: http://www.707sportscards.com/psa-cards/25943186.jpg http://i.ebayimg.com/images/a/(KGrHq...Q~~/s-l800.jpg |
Nice cards and great mug shot of ole Henry...
Henry- I miss our National meetings we have had in years gone by...... Quote:

Not a card, but certainly a 1 of 1. Picked myself up a Fiancee on Thanksgiving. Took her to The National with me this year, and she survived, and even bought several cards for me. That was the final test. She passed with flying colors.
