Keep posting (that goes for the Aaron collected too) thanks for sharing.

+1. Scott, I am floored by the fact that you have 202 game tickets and 138 signed!!

Great seats Randall. Do you have other stadium seats? How/where will you display them? I am always curious how folks display or use their stadium seats, as they are not the easiest things to place given their size.

Thanks, Joe & Copa7 (Sorry, I don't know your actual name).
My Nolan Ryan and no-hit ticket collections are truly a labor of love. That's what 44 years of collecting a theme will do for you. :)

If it was easy, it wouldn't be a challenge. ;)

Just picked this up. I like the tie in with the 1914 World Series with Mack and Stallings.

Thanks, yes I have a Yankee Stadium original 1923 seat, A Comiskey Park 1910 original, a Crosley Field 1912 and a pair from Cleveland Municipal 1932.

When I owned a bigger home I was thinking of putting a big screen in the basement and building some risers for seating then using the ballpark seats for some of that. Never got around to it. Right now I have them in the house. One in the bedroom kind of as a night stand. The pair are in the hallway. The Yankee seat is in the living room and my phone sits on it. the Comiskey is in the dining room near the back door. I sit in it to put my shoes on before I leave the house. They can all be used as extra seating if you have a lot of people over LOL. I've also thought of string them side by side and having them on the porch. I have a roof over my porch so it wouldn't be too tough on them.

I'm hoping to get most of the old ballparks at some point.

Mike,

Would love to see a picture of all those items you mentioned above displayed together. Also, do you collect the O's versions as well to go along with the Pirates?

Q: Did they make a salesman sample/s of the Pirates WS ring? That may be an alternative to purchasing a player/team rep version. I know I have a '70 O's SS ring so possibly they made them as well for the '71 Pirates.

I'm unsure about the money clip...

By the way, the key ring is very cool!

71buc 05-22-2016 09:13 AM

Thanks Mark, I'll post them later. Other than the press pins I only have the Pirate versions of these items. I have seen salesman samples of the ring but even they seem too pricey.

I thought I've seen the '71 Pirates SS ring before. That one you posted in the link is pretty pricey, like you said. I looked up a Goldin Auction and one went for $5,355 so a bit less then the one you posted, but then again still expensive. Possible it's so expensive because Clemente is listed on the ring. Is it a possibility they made other SS rings that had another player engraved on the ring? May be less if so. I know when I purchased my '70 O's SS it was under 1K; possibly go for a little more than this now, but not a bad price.

Of course I could have purchased Brooks' '70 WS ring in the Heritage Auction not to far back, but came up a tad short on the $143,400 price tag.

Jay Bruce game used bat used during Jake Arrieta's no hitter on 4/21/2016. Jay used this bat for a strikeout in the 6th and a fly out in the 8th. I also believe he used it in the 2nd and drew a walk.

So, my mother brought a few things from her home to give to me and I need a little help.

First is a photo of a Cuban baseball team that includes my grandfather(paternal) We are not sure of the year it was taken as there are no notes on the back. MY Grandfather is in the middle row on the right end.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...pa%20Cuban.jpg

Next is another Cuban babeball tem which has writing on the back stating it's from 1935.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...35%20Cuban.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...0cuban%20r.jpg

Next up is what appears to be a cut Burke photo signed by Walter Ockey. He played in 2gms in 1944. It was signed to my father likely in the 40s as my father did not collect autos until the late 80's, so wouldn't be "little". He died in 1971, but I am not sure ow difficult a sig he is.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ey%20Burke.jpg

Lastly is a 1963-64 "announcement" of the passing if the Yankees. Never seen one before. Did a little searching on google, but found nothing.

Civil War soldiers letter sent on December 15, 1863 from Camp Gilmore in Portsmouth, VA. He mentions how he just got finished playing a game of baseball before sitting down to write the letter.

Don't know much about it but it caught my eye. Loved the bat fanning, the Breaking Bad Heisenberg looking guy bottom right, and the old school photo bomb. Guessing it's Bethlehem Steel baseball.

Latest addition to my New Jersey collection. Oradell is a town in Bergen County NJ. What makes the jersey special to me is, acording to the tag, it was made in my hometown of Paterson. Seller thinks the jersey dates to 1940's.

Received these two pieces in the mail today. The first appears to be a mailing envelope for H.M. Taylor postcards, the second is a 1913 St. Louis Federals envelope.

I'm looking to move the Taylor envelope should it be of interest to anyone.

-Restore period original 1951 NL 75th anniversary patch
-Replace buttons with period original MacGregor-Goldsmith home buttons
-Stabilization of some of the lettering for GIANTS
-Fabrication/restoration of tie down strap
-Light conservation cleaning

Cell phone pic does not do this jersey justice.
