Dewey,
There's plenty that gets it going! I LOVE painting some of the more obscure/lower-tier Hall of Famers and other roleplayers, that's for sure. As much as I love painting Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle, I'd probably kill to paint people like Hughie Jennings, Fred Tenney, Eddie Mathews, and really, I could on and on and on in terms of players. I also really love interesting shots from the Deadball Era - be they action, or even seemingly mundane. There's just an intensity to those guys that is super appealing. The enclosed are prime examples of that. http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...pshnpolmk4.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...pswpuzedhp.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...psb0s3slym.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...ps5qfzyftp.jpg But seriously, I'm pretty much in love with the idea of painting anything related to baseball. |
Wonderful images! Thanks for sharing. The intensity thing, I get it. Always loved that aspect in this Zack Wheat pic.

ABSOLUTELY! That one's a winner and a half.

My all time favorite photo composition wise is one of Ken Williams. I can't find my copy, but I know Graig has it stored somewhere. I am not sure I would be able to not do another Gehrig, if I won, but I know I would want a print of it, if someone does get it done.
Do you have you have a copy you can post Graig? If not, I'll find mine later and post it. |
That ship's already sailed, Mark.
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...pslaqlz9l3.jpg Ken's going out to his new owner in a week or two. |
Damn. I've never seen you post that to your thread.
|
I actually have yet to have it photographed, so I had plans on doing so early next week.
|
I look forward to seeing it once photographed.

would this work?

wondering if this image would work
|
Ruben, though a great image, it wouldn't work with a 16" x 20". A full-body shot like that would have to be about twice that size. Which of course you can upgrade to if you win!
|
Graig, Could you do the 1958 Topps Mossi card.
I'd actually buy that from you regardless if I win lol. Want it behind my desk at the office. |
Thanks, now let's see if I win :)
|
24 hrs and 20 minutes to go before we kick this off.
I just got a scary weather forcast. High wind warning for Sunday from 2PM to 11 PM. If I loose my internet, I will be highly ticked off. In Northern Michigan, we use a dish for out internet, and it does get interrupted from time to time. We will have some sort of plan in place' By the way, I posted this box score form the last two raffles. Cards Side............................2 Memorabilia Side..................0 Ugly box score. |
10 HOURS TO GO.
A reminder, I will be opening a new thread at 8PM EST, here on the memorabilia side. Once the thread shows up, entries can then be purchased. |

So this photo would be a no-go? How much would an upgrade cost if total reaches ~250?
|
On the very slim chance my single entry wins could I get the same monetary value in the 5 x 7 studies? I think they are simply amazing and would love some portraits of my favorite player(s) in the different hats/uniforms he/they played in. Not that the full size paining isn't cool but not really my thing. Yes I am weird.:)
|
Dan,
We'd definitely have to go a bit bigger than 16" x 20" to make that one work, though not necessarily a hell of a lot bigger. If you'd like, PM/email me and I can let you know what it would cost for some different sizes. Graig |
Graig,
Why does a shot like Dan's not fit into a 16x20 format. Why won't it work? Is it because you can't do justice to detail? I'm no artist and am just curious. Thanks. Gary |
Gary,
For starters, since the dimensions are a bit different than 16" x 20" on Dan's image, it would have to adhere to those proportions. That's mainly because of the nature of his photograph, with two full figures. So, if he wanted to stay with 16" wide, the height would have to be around 25". The general size I think is still a little too small there, as everything would just seem too compressed. Additionally (and more importantly), I'd need more room to get the kind of detail that I'd like to, especially with the full figures and suitcases. It doesn't have to be all that much larger to do the trick - 18" x 28" or 20" x 32" would make a very large difference for me to work on (and for the viewer). Hope that makes some sense. If not, just say so! G |
Thanks, Graig.
|
No problem, Gary!
Ben, I hadn't quite thought of that. I'll give it some thought. |

Others, if Bill loses internet and you don't see a new Raffle Entry thread right at 8 PM EST, just hold your entry requests until he regains connectivity and can post the new thread. If you have extenuating circumstances preventing you from posting later in the evening, please e-mail or PM your requests to Bill. If that fails, e-mail or PM me or Graig. Our preference is that all requests be made on the board if possible, as we will be using the time stamps of the requests to assign the entry numbers in order. Cross-referencing time stamps across multiple platforms and users gets a little harder. |
Lance and Craig,
I just you both an email to make sure I have both your correct phone numbers. We are going to get 3 to 6 inches of snow today, till 11:PM. It just started snowing now. If I have to drive to McDonalds to use there internet, I will, (or nearest establishment), I just need to start the thread, and I can always add the names later, because they will be in order. |

I love that Aaron I commented about some time ago in another thread. It is incredible looking to me but I doubt Graig would want to paint that one again? I do love the 58 Topps Mantle/Aaron batting foes card/image if he could paint that, or the pic I own of my Uncle at the 58 WS game with Mickey Mantle. (both below) but truthfully, I think I'd be pretty happy with most anything he desired to paint. Quote:

I'm in. I would love to have the image on the 1974 Topps Puzzle. Even better if the kids faces that appear on the 1974 Deckle Edge that were cropped out of the puzzle shot.
|
That's a lot of love for Hammerin' Hank!
Irv, unfortunately I can't paint that exact Aaron image again, though I can do something similar. Or, the Mantle and Hank image would also work very well - I'm pretty sure I have a high-res copy of the actual photo somewhere in my files. Robert, as long as we can get a nice high-res copy of that image, it can certainly be done. |

Fingers crossed! :) |
raffle will start at 8PM EST. Just one hour and 5 minutes away.

The last three digits will the winner. OF THE ATTENDANCE THAT IS. Please read those rules, for further information. Good Luck Bill |
Hey Bill-
This is my first time participating in an online raffle ...could you please direct me to the location of '2016 Kreindler Raffle Event' thread? I thought where I'm leaving this post was the 'vintage memorabilia forum', but I am not seeing anyone else posting entry requests. Thanks, Raymond |
You are in the right area, Just enter the Kreindler Dream event, and you got it.
Bill |
Yes you can buy five right out of the gate, and more if ye like.
|
I am in for more than one
|
James,
You presented your name in the first sites we posted to find out if we had enough interest to go forward, because that is all those threads were about, to see if those generated enough interest so we can go forward and have the raffle starting tonight. We started a brand new raffle site, titled Kreindler Dream event III, (raffle), entries now open", There is where you place your request to get placed on the entry list. I posted several times that I would be posting a new thread on the memorabilia side, on Apr 3 at 8PM and that is where you enter the raffle. It was also in the rules stating that I would be posting a new thread on the 3rd it initiate the raffle. Please, to enter, place your request there, on the memorabilia/game used side of this website, and state your entry requests there. You will see the entry list, once your request is made, I will place your name on that list. Good luck |
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just want everyone to know, if you place your name onto this thread, it does not mean that you have entered the raffle. This thread was intended to see if the was enough interest in a raffle for us to proceed. I posted several times that I would be opening up a new thread, on the Memorabilia/game used side , on April 3rd, and there is where you enter the raffle. So please, if you want the chance to win a custom painting by Graig, then go to the thread that states, Kreindler Dream event, (raffle), open of entry requests. It is located on the memorabilia/game used side |
Just 25 needed to complete the minimum for a good raffle.
