Mr. Wagner wishes to say hello. He asks that you take a gander at his popeye like arms and reconsider your position.

Lol.

I look at those photos and think how much my high school baseball coach would have yelled if I choked that high on a bat at the plate. Times sure do change.

If I put up stats like Wagner I guess I might have got a pass. :D

Will most likely never afford the "Chicago on shirt - Hands on Knees" Tinker - but one with the faded "Chicago" will do (usually found on Sweet Cap. 150's from what I've seen.)

There's no such thing as a "Chicago on shirt- Hands on Knees" Tinker variation...I think you're thinking of the Mordecai Brown version.

I believe there is a variation with "Chicago" erased, and some of "Chicago" is visible.

Sorry for the confusion, Nast Nati. I meant the printing error/freak that has both "Cubs" and the partial "Chicago" on his shirt:

I think I am about to hurl. The thought or smell of Whitecastle sliders give me that post drinking hangover feeling. I remember one time when my wife was in the hospital in St. Louis I picked some up to cheer her up and about gagged from the greasy smell of "Sliders". We still laugh abour it but to this day, no sliders for me.

Can I ask what the first name is at the top of the photo? Is it KASEL or KADEL or something else? I only ask as my last name is KASEL, so it would be cool to know that maybe some relative at some point in history had a hand in it.

Thanks!

Hey Leon,

I like your Kroger Bread card - Not sure if I have seen any of the others that you mentioned although it seems I vaguely remember something about them (probably from an old post of yours)? :)

My question: Do the other three known have the "hole" in them (probably from where they were tied to a bag)?

Side Note:

My friends & I used to buy cigars and smoke them out front of Kroger when we were young - not sure why just something we did... Cool card...

The McArdle I've had a while, but the Tennant (thanks Andy!) and the Mohler (Leon, I think you owned this at one time?) are from Sep. I hate my scanner at home, and the one at work, which is awesome, hasn't been working, so I have put off scanning for a bit. I couldn't wait anymore. These three cards show the difference in scanners, did I say I hate my one at home?

Thanks, Dean and Mike. That little bit of crease in the lower right knocked it down to a two, which made it really affordable. I've been waiting for a while to find just this card, a little damage that doesn't really take away much of the aesthetics, but enough to keep the cost down! Happy to add it to my collection.

I won these three on eBay last weekend, and they arrived today. The eBay seller identified these and several other similar cards he had listed as "E121 blank back W575" cards - however, I am 99% certain they are W501-2 cards (Rhett, do you concur?).

I do concur. They will be on thin stock (like regular W501's), grainy images (like regular W501's) and no "G-4-22" nor number at top. I think W501-2 is a much better description for the set than to lump them along with regular W575-1's.

Here is the back. It is my first and only Joss. It's the kind of card I take to a show, not really looking to sell,to have in the case to start cool conversations.

Actually this isn't it. Neat to see another close to what the other one had though. I believe Goodwin may have auctioned it or had it in his case at the show. Super neat card though

Rhett, thanks for your confirmation. Yes, these 3 cards are on thin stock like regular W501s (which I now refer to as W501-1s). A very interesting aspect of these 3 cards is that someone, presumably whomever owned them before the eBay seller, wrote a number in pencil in the upper-right-hand corner of each card. This is exactly where the printed card number appears on a W501-1 card, AND the penciled numbers on these 3 cards are the correct printed card numbers that appear on the W501-1 cards of these 3 players; so, apparently, a prior owner did make the connection between these cards and the numbered W501-1s.

Two Goudey upgrades. They might not look like much, but 8 years into working on the set, they are significant to me. :D:D:D

The Myer SGC 92 is the highest graded with only 5 SGC 84s. There have been only 6 PSA 8s graded. My set now stands at 187/240 SGC 88 or better.

The Moore SGC 84 is the highest graded with only 1 SGC 80 below it. There have only been 6 PSA 8s graded. It is off centered for sure, but it was the last card I needed to have my set all SGC 84 or better, except my SGC 82 Lajoie.:rolleyes::rolleyes:
