Finally got my 1939 R303A Ted Williams, after just missing out on several!
(sorry, no scanner yet). Has great eye appeal, with no apparent creases, which is somewhat unusual for this fragile issue, but does have a slight tear on the lower left. Best to all, Larry |

Signed T206 Reprint
Picked up my seventh T206 Livingston reprint, signed by Livingston. Can anyone tell me if they've ever seen a T206 reprint signed by another player?

Just picked this up. The little line underneath the word "Federal" is actually a tiny piece of plastic shaving - which I managed to shake out beyond the inner baffles. Disclaimer; this is not MY scan (I don't want to wake up in the morning facing a federal indictment due to the setting of my scanner...). :)
|
@ Herb very nice Smith !!! I don't collect CJ's but this is a card that I'd like to get.

...cringe-worthy centering but a much better surface....this version doesn't come up on E-Bay for years and years and now so far this year there are three appearances.....odd. |

...only a few wrinkles on the surface and still has the easel on the back....this is not the cheapest way to collect Hubble and Ott though.... .. |

Excellent cards. I've always liked that Glasscock card, best 19th century card IMO. Why did it only grade a poor? There must be back damage.

With thanks to Mark M., I'm thrilled to have picked up these scarce 1943 & 1944 Centennial Flour cards of Byron "By" Speece for my collection of all the players on the 1924 Senators World Series Championship team. Until I very recently learned of these cards (I'm still looking for Speece's 1945, and last, Centennial Flour card), it was my belief that the only card that of Speece that was issued during his playing days was his 1924 Diaz Cigarettes card (a Cuban issue).
Speece had a brief MLB career. In 1924, his first year in MLB and only year with the Senators, Speece appeared in 21 games and had a 2 - 1 record with a 2.65 ERA. His only W.S. appearance was for 1 inning in Game 3, in which he gave up 1 run to the Giants. However, in 20 minor league seasons, he won 224 games vs. 162 losses. In 1943 & 1944, at ages 46 and 47, Speece won a total of 23 games and pitched 30 complete games - they don't seem to make 'em like this anymore! Val |

I've always liked and kept my Doolin "error" card. Now, I've picked up a Schulte/front, that, imo, has to have been from same owner.
Got to love the stats, and even his nickname :) Attachment 194325 |
Finally got a Merkle throwing card !!!!!! I know it's more like 3/4 of a card but it's a Tolstoi and in my price range !!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1909-11-T206...vip=true&rt=nc Also got a "toughie" in my price range. George Browne (correct spelling of his last name) for $30 http://www.ebay.com/itm/301655374532...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT |

Nice Scott, There is an old thread where it was determined who the original owner was, although I forgot who :D

How nutty are you going to get when you pick up your first Cobb? :D |
Well a Merkle in one whole piece would have been better lol. I just won't be able to get one and feel right about spending $100 + on that card. IMO it's one of the best looking cards in the set. Certainly in my top 10 maybe even top 5.
Cobb ........... If I get one lol. Yeah I'd probably go pretty nutty :D @ Mike that's a sweet looking Dougherty !! :D |

My first T3, courtesy of LOTG. It previously resided in a PSA 1 holder until about five minutes ago. If anyone else has beautiful T3s with pinholes for sale for under $100, I'm your guy.

Haunted by Toad

Hey, I got my Toad... finally (Thanks, Chris).
My next goal is to visit his unmarked grave, if I can find it. Then I will contact his spirit with my Ouija Board and let him haunt my house for as long as he likes. |

Arrrrrrr Greg, I was the underbidder on that, I should have gone higher, you got a great deal. Nice pickup.
|
Dan, so sorry, but "all in the family." Price might have been depressed by some eBay problems tonight...or just that some of the "e" cards depressed in general....
|
Forget the pinhole - check out that huge crop mark on the upper right corner of the back! That alone is pretty cool (as is the rest of the card, minus the pinhole anyway :) )

My Goodwin auction pickup:
http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps8cybynje.jpg Apparently the paper loss on the front most of scared most collectors away, but I'll take it for now in hopes of one day seeing a nicer one or another rare back. |

Let's see a scan as soon as you can. Now, remember, if the response you get from your Ouija Board is 'Ribbit', you really got in contact with 'Toad'....however, if the response is 'Rubbit', it's just some pervert. :p |
