Thanks Mark and Scott. I didn't consider parking passes. The frustration caused by searching for the NLCS stubs just about did me in. I don't think I could handle such a maddening task for awhile. Those Oriole teams of the mid 60's through 1979 were fun to watch. It would be fun to see yet another Bucs vs. Orioles world series this year. Hopefully if the baseball Gods are smiling the result would be the same as the previous two;)

1971 Orioles
I hope both teams make it again. It's been a while since the O's have done much of anything so it's nice to see them compete again after so many years, especially for a die hard O's fan. Yes; Pirates vs. Orioles; maybe we could play "another" seven game series...

Super excited to add this super tough Cub to my collection via ebay:D

Pricewise, pins seem to be all over the place these days. |
Hi Rob,
I paid $405 with shipping and am pleased with that hammer price. Not a bargain, but fair considering scarcity and the premium that seems to follow Cubs pieces.;) |
My newest pickup.

For the future of my pin collection, I'm glad you didn't. ;) |
Just got nice group of vintage Steelers tickets. One of them is a ticket from the first game where they were known as the Steelers (before that they were the Pirates).
I will have this for sale within the next week or two. http://i792.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps32c7112a.jpg Tom C |

Nice addition to the collection! Dates the pin from 1951-1953. Now if you factor in the Kiner "Hearts" pin thats a cost of 200 each:D Now that I would consider a bargain;);) And remember adding a piece to a collection that brings you joy money sometimes isnt the main reason we do it!!;);) |

I like the photos just the way they are with markings and writing on them. Would never mess with one.

I picked both of these up yesterday. The first is my first type 1 photo. I emailed Ben to see if he knew much about the photo such as where it came from or who the other guy next to Ruth may be. He didn't know so if anyone out there has an idea it would appreciate it.
http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...84d45e5113.jpg The second thing I ran across was an old wooden Worch cigar box. Don't know if it's the right period as I haven't found another one on the internet yet. Just thought it was cool. Now if I could just find the ball cards. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...e420ff17a7.jpghttp://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...2e22adb495.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks very much for that confirmation. It's always nice when you get an unexpected surprise. Even without kids or Lou smiling, I am still pretty psyched about getting it! Thanks, Mark |

Mark that is a beautiful Van Oeyen Gehrig. On a lesser note... I finally managed to pick up the black version of the 1971 Pirates scroll pennant and a 1960 Bucs eye patch with the original string. The pennant has a few flaws bit I'll take it. I have been looking to add each of these for quite awhile. It's funny how you look for items for a long period of time and suddenly they all appear at once. I'm fortunate to love odd bargain basement Pirate trinkets that require little competition:p

Love the Pirates pennant and patch!
Picked up two large frames caked in dirt at an estate sale this weekend. When I cleaned them up, I found beautiful wood underneath. Used them to house two of my favorite pennants. Greg |
Those look great in the frames. I didn't know that Mike King Kelly was the subject of that film until I googled it. Me and my post war brain need to get out more:rolleyes:

Mike, I love the Pirates eye patch. That's a keeper, for sure! ;) |
Wonderful frames, Greg. And very cool pennants.

Beautiful frames/pennants, Greg.... What a stroke of luck, finding the perfect styles/sizes! Those two pennants are really unique!
And I LOVE that Pirates Eye Patch, Mike.... never seen one before... Gotta be one of very few remaining  Tying those two themes together (Pennants and that Eye Patch)... here's a pretty rare, circa 1960 Pirates Pennant with the same theme... |
MLB auctioned off the 'Marineros' jerseys last night, from Seattle's 'Latin American Beisbol' night this year.
I only wanted one, but didn't understand how the auction worked, and ended up with three. Got the main one I wanted - Paxton - plus Seager and Carson Smith. The Cano was awesome - pine tar all over it, and I was able to photo-match it. Unfortunately, it went for $2,800 so I got out of the bidding early. One of these three will be the one I wear to the playoffs this year. yeah, right :( |
Very cool, Scott... and you never know.... 2 games out of the Wild Card with 3 to play. Stranger things have happened!
Who else did you get (besides Paxton?) |

I really, really wish others hadn't been so interested in the Cano! |
A35 Goodwin Round Album

One of the better conditioned Albums that I have ever seen. I posted this on the card side but I also thought that this is memorabilia piece as well. I am looking for ideas on how to display it and peoples thoughts on removing the string and or changing one of the pages for a better conditioned one if I were so inclined? Thanks

Picked up this Warren Giles NL ball mint sealed in box. How much do these balls go for in mint condition?

Gorgeous album, Bob! That's one of the coolest pieces of baseball memorabilia a collector can acquire, and you have it.

That must have been the pitch in the dirt. I was the 5th guy in line and I only saw two Hernandez/Trout balls. You must have been right behind me!

One of my favorite pickups ever
1 Attachment(s)
I'm a few days late with this. Along with a "Happy Birthday" from my favorite forum (thanks Leon), I received this from one of my favorite grandsons (okay, they're all my favorites) Four-year-old Jackson sent it from Denver...
|
Now that's a keeper!
|
Wow! My son is Jackson he will be 4 in December and he calls my dad "Pop". Great piece.
