Could it be Maloney or Schaefer (Detroit)? |
I think based on the group the card fits in these were the only possibilities.

Admittedly, not the prettiest of backs, but when you figure there are only 2 graded in total and the other is in the #1 SGC set, you can't be too picky.

Nice Ebay pickup DJ ;) Had my eye on that too. Had the back been in just a little bit better shape I would have been a player. Very tough card nonetheless! |

Super stoked to pick up my favorite e98 in the color and condition I've been looking for!
|
Been wanting this one for a while..
I've been looking for this card for seven months. That's no exaggeration. Finally got it.
http://imageshack.com/a/img834/9773/j753.png The Sullivan was also part of the auction. It's a place filler for now. http://imageshack.com/a/img845/8156/1ch0.png Both slabs are pretty scratched up, so these scans will have to do until I can get them cleaned up. |

C. 1930's Red Sox Photograph
1 Attachment(s)
Here's a really cool C.1930's Photograph of Jimmie Foxx hunting with Red Sox teammates Lefty Grove, Pinky Higgins and team owner Tom Yawkey.
What makes this special is the players in this photo have been identified in Jimmie Foxx's own hand, making this a partial signature since he wrote his own name! |

Late April Early May
3 Attachment(s)
Well, I'm very bad about breaking out the scanner, but last night I went to town on my REA lot (some will be hitting the BST) and my pickups from late April thru today. I added a few Old Judge, which I'm addicted to :D:D, a nice E102 Matty from REA :D, and a R312 Hornsby :D. All the Old Judge and the Hornsby are from fellow members, thanks for the great cards :):):).

12.5x19 Current News Posters
2 Attachment(s)
I picked this up to go with the postcard I own. Don't know much about them but for a small price thought it was a cool companion piece. Anyone know if these were printed later on or during the current news period of the time? Any info would be nice to have.

wow, nice pickup Pete!

Interesting how Brad's post went from calling Joey a douche to saying: "thanks, man".
Brad, I assume this is your Ruth item? Let's not see it out there for sale any time soon... |

Thanks to Patrick R. for getting this Kleinow with the others
Patrick saw this come up as a BIN on eBay, and rather than waste time sending a message and hoping I would get to it before someone actually bought it now, he made the purchase, then contacted me. Got number 255 back with the others. Thanks again, Patrick.

Ed, has your pickups gotten slower now?
|
Not really, Bobby,
They come in spurts. May go a couple months without seeing one, then six show up within a couple of days of each other. My guess would be about one and a half cards a month over the last two years or 36 in the last two years. Maybe slower than the first couple of years when I got started, but not grinding to a halt for any extended period of time. Within weeks or months, there will be two more to post, besides the ones that just show up like this one.

That's a nice hunk of silver there

Just love these threads...if I don't get something cool in this month it will be a shutout month for the first time in a few years.
Great pickups (love those E cards all over the place!) Also, I needed to post quick to not stay on number 666 too long! Spooky number. I feel better at 2/3 of a thousand. |

Just picked up this one via the BST.
It's the last unique front I needed for my Obak Los Angeles master team set. I'm still looking for five 1909 back variations before considering my set complete. http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h8...ps025efc9b.jpg |
Pete,
That is a seriously nice Shoeless Joe E90-1, especially considering the technical grade. Add the red actually being where it should be, and you have a winner! Congrats!! Steve |
