Luke, so it was you that got that Hartsel. Good to see it went to a good home. Had a great mail day today thanks to Scott for the Murphy and Leon and Scott for the other winnings!

Paul - gorgeous Oms!!

I love that issue...Oms and Mendez are my favorites...those "floating heads" rival those of the "floating head" E99s

paul 04-04-2014 03:20 PM

Derek, I like the Nacionales cards too, and this is my first one. I wish I had a Mendez.

Yep DJ, it was I! Nice Nadjas you picked up, especially Mr. Young.

Another present came in the mail today. I'm going to continue to believe it's a Gehrig rookie until proven otherwise.

Great job on finishing the Delong set, Brad! It is one of my all time favorite sets, and that Gehrig is one of my all time favorite cards!

Thanks David for another nice E99. Not a floating head this time but it helps me to the finish line in this set. Someone asked about how many "floating heads" there were, off the top of my head there are just the Melchior and McArdle I picked up, along with the Mohler.

Luke 04-05-2014 06:39 PM

Nice Mattys Jimi! You working on a back run?

h2oya311 04-07-2014 12:07 PM

Nice ones Brad. Im surprised Mr. Ruth was graded...so many reprints out there.

pencil1974 04-07-2014 12:16 PM

Thanks Derek. I was as a bit shocked as well as this is my 7th or 8th one that I have picked up and chalked it as being a reprint too since all the others had come back that way. I even told the seller that I was pretty sure it was coming back to him as a reprint but he was a great guy and had no problem with that but had maintained (as did they all) it was original. So I'll chalk it up as a blind squirrel gets a nut once in a while. :)

Good job, Don! I was one of the underbidders on the Matty e98. Scary card, but affordable because of it's raunchiness. :)

Gorgeous, Brad! You can't do better than Cobb and the Babe!

REA is auctioning off the Dietsche Tigers post card set sans the two Cobbs and the Crawford. But that would give me something to work on. And, in the mean time, my favorite two from the set after the Cobb batting, the Hughie Jennings, and the incredible Coughlin, are included.

My compliments on two really nice additions to your collection.

pencil1974 04-09-2014 02:38 PM

The 8s and 9s are from the breakup of the #1 set on the PSA Registry. I matched the cert#s with the set sold on REA back in 2010. The set had an unbelievable GPA of 7.70. As far as I can tell, there are only 3 C46s that have been graded as Mint. All three were from the PSA registry (nothing that high in the SGC registry) and all three were from the #1 set. I should have used the seller's scans because mine don't do them justice.
