It wasn't really a sleeper, I had my eye on it, but I am new to collecting, and have so many cards I need. I was looking more to build my Monster than go after just the rare backs (though I am kind of fond of the different backs). So I got these:

Really was a great auction guys, looking forward to the next one. Didnt come away with anything this time as I was outbid on a few Cocoas that went way past what I thought they would close at. Oh well, it was fun and I really like the format ;-)

Ed- a (relatively) clean HOF Hindu for $275 is a sleeper in my book. i was prepared to pay more than i did...if i had to.

Of course the Marquard Hindu was from my personal collection. Those are usually the great buys :( ......

Luke, those are some very nice caramels.

RGold 03-10-2014 04:30 PM

These two sold for $4,700 in 2008 and $2,200 in 2012. Picked them up for about $1,100. An ominous trend, but what the heck. :D:D:D

I was looking at it as a steal, not a sleeper. I wanted oh so badly to outbid you, but I decided to go for a couple other auctions. I was going for the lot of 29 with HOFs, and, for a short while, the John Titus. If I had thrown in on your (at that time Leon's) Hindu, I would have run the risk of winning more than I could afford. As it was I only got the one lot. If I had known how it all was going to pan out, I would have gone for the Hindu instead of the Titus, but hey, hind sight is 20/20. In the end, I am perfectly satisfied with my four card lot, and have to admit, I like this auction.

I did win this very affordable lot of photos. I figured at under $11 per image I couldn't go wrong.

Thanks, Daryl! There were plenty of nice E92s to be had and fortunately I knocked quite a few off of my checklist.

Very happy to have landed this one:

It'll be nice to have an OJ back in the fold.

yanks12025 03-10-2014 07:30 PM

I won the joe DiMaggio twice signed baseball which I thought was a steal for $144 total.

Sean1125 03-10-2014 07:40 PM

I won most of the T206 lots including all rare back lots... i think the entire set is undervalued and I regret not winning every t206 in the auction.

Great auction Leon & Scott! My payment went out this morning.

Won one lot and was outbid on another, but I'm very happy with the lot I won!

Congrats to whomever won the 1911 Telegram to Snodgrass.

Here is the lot I won. I could hear Johnny V. in my ear saying "bid again Jantz"! :)

I loved the telegram to Snodgrass. Went for an insane price I thought!

RGold:

Great pickups! I really had wanted that Bartell -- but misunderstood the closing by lot auction rules. I was the underbidder, and thought I had until after dinner to place another bid. Alas, when I got home, the lot was already closed.

RGold 03-11-2014 11:46 AM

Sorry Marc. If it makes you feel any better, I would have gone a couple of more increments. :D:D:D

MVSNYC 03-14-2014 09:11 AM

Andy- that Dickey pic (sounds funny) is awesome.

B&L- another great auction, thanks guys.

Prince Hal 03-14-2014 09:59 AM

Add me to the list who loved this auction, thanks Leon. I've been looking for Crofts and Nadja Highlanders for a few years now and in one swoop i got them all!
