Congrats Bob, that's gorgeous!

Sweet! Where'd you get it if you don't mind me asking?

Wow! We see a lot of great stuff on here, but that one has got to be near the top of the list.

So, how much beer can it hold? ;)

Just picked up these two images of the 1920's "Olson's Terrible Swedes" barnstorming team. This team traveled throughout the Midwest and West and were only surpassed as barnstormers of this period by the Original Celtics and Harlem Rens. Olson later formed Hall of Fame "All-American Red Heads" female barnstorming team.

Charlie Jamieson game used bat

Just picked up this Charlie Jamieson gamer. It's the single dash-dot-dash, so I believe it's from 1917-21. What's cool is that he was the lead-off hitter in the 1920 World Series (when they beat the Dodgers). He also led the A.L. in hits in '23 (beating out Speaker and Ruth)...even came in 3rd for the MVP in '24.

UnVme7 02-23-2014 08:27 AM

I saw that bat for sale and thought it looked like a nice one. Can you see if the bat is sidewritten at all?

Tough to tell. At times I think I see the remnants of side writing...but the bat is so dark, makes it very difficult. Maybe a uv light would help.

MGHPro 02-23-2014 12:54 PM

I would bet its sidewritten . I also think it would clean up very well if you don't like the soiled look

1960's Sandy Koufax inscribed no hitter ball

I picked up this neat Sandy Koufax inscribed no hitter ball. All 4 panels have date and team for each of his 4 no hitters. It came from one of the Dodgers offices from Dodger Stadium back in the mid 60's …My good friend and member Scott G. gave me the lead on this one or I would have missed it.

parker1b2 02-24-2014 10:33 AM

I was watching that. Went for less than I thought. Nice pick up

Phil,
It ended up in the hands of the right collector. :)

Won this last night from Legendary. It was #2 on my list of 'possibly attainable', so quite happy.

Plan now is to get each player to autograph it. Unfortunately, Frisch, Klem, and Murray have passed away.

Sweet Jurges bat!! I'd love to hear where you got it, shoot me an email if you wouldn't mind. I have a couple of those hickory bats. Is it heavier than heck?
