First Lajoie SGC 30 :) thanks Derek for everything!

Loving the two Polar Bears and the beater Tolstoi :D

Wow

Chris - that's awesome! I think I had about 9 diff. M101-6's in the 90's before I gave up. I just couldn't take not adding to my collection for like 2 years.
Congrats on having nerves of steel!

nolemmings 01-13-2014 03:25 PM

Good job Chris--way to take them out of circulation for the rest of us :(

Tony, I still have the m101-6 Sisler you sold me more than 9 years ago. Should have jumped on the Collins then too:o

A couple of pieces for my two sets came in today. Snagged the Foxx from Ebay and the Gehringer from here thanks to Brian Van Horn. Here are some photos guys

That's cool to hear that you still have it. Nice to know it's in a safe place! Post a photo sometime, I'd like to see it again. I don't even remember which ones I had it's so long ago:eek:

the-illini 01-13-2014 08:41 PM

Thanks for the kind words everyone - it can be an excruciating set to try and find examples from. Only good thing about their scarcity is that the droughts keep me from going broke!

Got a 2nd chance on this E90-1 Cobb and pulled the trigger, after having it offered (at same price) about 2 years back. I've never been centering obsessed, which is good for this one... now just hope those 1908 rumors end up being true:D

I already had a T206 Speaker - but for some reason, I always wanted this card with a Polar Bear back.

joeadcock 01-14-2014 02:20 PM

Todd

I think Speaker T206 is one of the best looking cards of this set.

So I get what you say. That is why I also have more than one.

Fun, and way cool. No Ruth for me yet......someday the stars will align!

Iwantmorecards77 01-14-2014 11:50 PM

Thanks, Joe. I really like the T206 Speaker as well. I'm on a tight budget - so I had to sell my other one (PSA 4 - MK) to afford the Polar Bear. Great card.

Todd

I've always like the r309 Ruth as well, one of these days I'm sure I'll pull the trigger on one.

Much better...thanks! That's a great piece...I could swear I've seen this somewhere before (probably on here) some time ago and always thought it was a great image. If you ever obtain more information on the team, I'd love to hear about it.

.... Dilemma : but I still love the rattys..... logic dictates that I bite the bullet , cull the herd , and sell the what-are-now-dupes......but we all know that ain't gonna happen anytime soon... ah well they don't take up much space and the memories of originally obtaining them - priceless.

Did anyone win this on Ebay?
I bidded on it several times...but gave up when my Goodwin catalog came in the mail
I researched it, as i am not much pre-war, and it says it was a Plank RC...Correct??
From what i seen on prices..it was a good bargin i believe..
It was a NICE one, and have to show it after it ended.

That was my eBay listing. The buyer got a pretty darn good deal if you ask me. Oh well! I don't recall representing it as a rookie, but if I did, it was in error . Rookie cards are what I know best!!
