Phil, very nice imperial cabinet, great way to pick-up four HOFers with one purchase. Do you mind sharing who you purchased it from and any history you are aware of? Congrats.

Sure, Joe. Bought the cabinet from Bryan Dec in Philly, very professional seller and great customer service as well.

Always happy to add another Gibson to my collection.

This one came from the most recent Collectible Classics auction. This was my first time bidding with them, and I have to say that I was quite happy with their customer service, their speed of shipping and how well protected everything was in the package.

Regards,

Richard.

Thanks Abe, I'm pretty happy to get it. The image on this supplement goes nicely with a 1910 Coca-Cola ad I picked up earlier this year (from a board member) that features Gibson with this same image. This same scene (with Bugs Raymond removed) can be found on a notebook cover that I'd love to pick up sometime.

Richard.

I actually have some dupes I bought at times when I thought they were cheap... But now I think certain OJs go cheap because everyone already has them!

I liked Collins and George. But I found sliding poses and don't need double players... I also have an extra Fred Mann not listed... Most of my doubles are common; and I've been 'low key' trying to get rid of then for a while now. I'm beginning to think they'll be loitering in my binder for quite some time. :)

I can't quit I'm compleatly psychology addicted, and I don't plan on seeking help. :)

I won't be buying anything more until the end of January, but I got the last card I purchased in the mail today. It's not a prewar card, but it's part of the Roberto Clemente master set I'm working on. It's a real beauty! I'll be posting it on the post war pickup thread.

Nice Kashin Steve! I similarly recently got one in 3.5 and like you have NO idea why it graded that. Aside from a couple light corner dings (EX worthy), there are no wrinkles, stains, markings, etc. I'm not sweating it, the card looks great and the number probably got me a better deal.:D

GregMitch34 12-17-2013 04:02 PM

On those Kashins--I got a "3" for Gehrig this year that I was sure was a 4 or 5--sent it to SGC and they pointed to a VERY light crease--on the back! Still seemed worthy of a 4. So maybe you need to get out those microscopes...

Thanks! My wife told me that she didn't remember which one I showed her when I originally found it on eBay. So when she decided to buy it, there was a SGC 20 also on eBay that was stained and rounded corners that was $15 more. I am glad she went with this one. It is definitely a card worth looking past the grade. I have had very few cards that had a surface this well focused. I would buy all T206s in this grade if they looked this good and kept the price down.
