one-of-a-kind cards
I have a few one-of-a-kinds (all postcards), but I love showing them off. Here's one of my favorites, which is currently making a journey from NJ to MA, freshly entombed by SGC:
1937 SD Padres Team PC w/ Ted Williams: http://photos.imageevent.com/derekgr...20Williams.jpg |

Longest Game
2 Attachment(s)
While it's not a baseball card, it is a 3x6 "card" so I'm including it just for fun!
Back in '81 I attended the end of the "33 Inning Longest Game" on a Providence Journal Press Pass. Just this AM I went up the road to one of the few remaining regular card shows in the RI-MA area & secured the signature of "Walpole Joe" Morgan, who was the Pawsox Mgr at that time. I now consider my pass "Complete" w/ all the major "players" involved in winning that game. For those not familiar, I now have the Team owner (Ben Mondor, deceased), the Mgr (Morgan), winning pitcher (Bobby Ojeda), winning run (Marty Barrett), winning RBI (Dave Koza) & the 2 Hall of Famers who played in that game, Wade Boggs & Cal Ripken Jr. Needless to say, I'm pretty sure this is a unique item & am about 100% certain you won't see another one! It is one of the highlights of all the "stuff" I have! Thought you might enjoy seeing it! |

I paid $6.00 this AM for Mgr Joe Morgan. |

But They Have '' Vintage'' In Their Name.....
http://imagehost.vendio.com/a/204295...EA_NEW_001.JPG
...not only is this one of a kind - this doesn't even exist , per Beckett ''Vintage'' ........Obviously one of the late-thirties Goudey Premium Issues ; on the back it says '' Lithographed in Canada'' ; you would think all that would at least point them in the right direction in order to look up the fine details for the label. ( It's a V351 ) .......now I have to go through the hassle of re-submitting plus paying yet another $18 ( they kept the original payment of $18 ) and I have to send Bob Lemke along with the card to show them where in the book to look . And as you know he flies only first class..... |

There is a wonderful book written about this game by Dan Barry, an ex-Providence Journal reporter who now works for the NY Times. My sister Carol is a retired Deputy Executive Editor of the Pro-Jo. |

Probably other's exist but I have not seen one in full strip form like this one. Even the corners are sharp. Great combination strip with Ruth, Johnson, and Cobb |

I think this one is pretty unique. I have shown this before, but I enjoy showing it. Dockman and Sons produced cards of boats, soldiers, animals, and baseball players. If you look at the back of this card, you see a checklist for animals.
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...88b04da540.jpg When you turn the card over, you would expect to see a lion, zebra or a monkey. You would be very surprised to see what is there.....Honus Wagner. http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...e39855ed6d.jpg |
Still going...
The Wag's is neat and that Cobb that Jeff posted is a loner for sure. Never seen that one before...
Nice cards by many... |

Nice Lobert. I have also seen a McGraw, but no others.
I wonder why your is an e102 on the slab and not Dockman since Dockman made the animal cards? |

I wonder if all 3 of our wrong back menagerie cards came from the same sheet.
They all have what looks to be the exact same off centered positioning of the back. |
I don't think there any other Schlei type 1's but I could be wrong:

I do believe there are others (as shown by Leon) but I have only seen one of each player that I have come across. Other collectors would know more, but that would be for another thread. |
I'm not aware of another Ju-Ju Drums container that has survived.

Ju-Ju
Wow...thanks Brian for sharing the Ju-Ju Drums container, which I have never seen before. I guess they would be even more impossible to obtain than the incredibly scare Ju-Ju cards.

This is a great thread, do not let it die!!!
I love the Jim Thorpe card Mr. Luckey. One of my all time favorite athletes. I have heard people say: "Too bad there is no Joe Jackson in the T206 Southern League Run" ... I just tell them : "There is, it is a true 1/1, and I am the owner"! "It would would take a very large offer to pry this one away" ... |

My blank-backed T206 Donovan was only one known when authenticated by SGC at the 2013 National (and since auctioned via Robert Edwards). Assume it was a test print run that ended up as scrap.
