Colby, welcome to the forum.

Some of us have a lot of patience, and some of us don't. I lose my patience when complete strangers come on here to ask about $50 Honus Wagner cards that, if were real, would be worth $500,000. A lot of times the expectation is that newbies are scam artists trying to make some money on the unsuspecting -- and this is a place where scam artists get eaten alive.

But, I thought your inquiry was just about perfect, and in my opinion, totally genuine -- just like the cards you found. They're pretty terrific. I especially like the Donlin hands on knees, which is a tough common to find.

This is a really great environment for learning about pre-WWI baseball cards, but sometimes the personalities can muck it up a bit. We have stupid feuds over stupid things with some level of regularity. Sometimes entertaining to watch, sometimes frustrating to be a part of. Welcome aboard!

I appreciate the post. I totally understand where everyone is coming from. I rarely believe anyone until I see whatever they are talking about in person. I often call out scam artist on Craigslist for fun, or I just tell them I'm really interested in what they have then lead them on for a few days or so. And no I don't have time to do this but it really just makes me angry when people try and take advantage of people. I've been buying stuff around Oklahoma for the past few months and have came across all sorts of things. I usually 99% of the time stay away from autos and I am mainly looking for 1950s and 60s cards. Occasionally I'll buy some 1930s and 40s. But two days ago was the first time I ever came across t206s. Really it seemed to good to be true... I have never bought nor had the inclination to research them. So I did my research for hours and everything seemed to check out. I wasn't certain, therefore I went to the forum. To my relief they were real.

They look like great cards. I'm just sorry I don't collect 1950s cards. Good luck with them. ;)

I'm glad you got the information you needed and that the cards are real. Thanks for posting the cool pictures -- it's nice to see that you can still find decent vintage collections out there, even when the cow is in the living room.

All I might add is don't let the hobby stress you out so much. It should be fun, first and foremost. I know shadiness is out there, but you can learn to avoid it. This hobby shouldn't be keeping you up at night, and it shouldn't be a stressful journey. I'm glad to see young people still in the hobby (I'm in my early 40s, so I'm old), and the best advice I could give to you would be focus on having fun and relaxing with the hobby.

Now that you have some real, raw T206s in your collection, you'll know what to look for and maybe that next "find" will be less stressful. :)
