I think this may be the only signed '33 DeLong of Gehrig, a little scarcer set than his Goudey counterparts.

If nobody likes the cards that I have posted thus far in this thread, I would be happy to reduce them and bump them back to the top of this thread.........

Seiklis 08-27-2012 06:47 PM

I'm sure there are others but as far as sgc and psa are concerned they're 1/1s

Phil, I love your postings, many of which are Supplements I've never seen and are quite interesting! Please don't stop sharing. And when you reduce them enough on the b/s/t I'll eventually own a few :)

Everyone seems to love the miscut 1/1's. Here's another another:

<a href="http://s69.photobucket.com/albums/i52/rman444/prewar/?action=view&amp;current=ryan.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i52/rman444/prewar/ryan.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

I prefer the non-miscut 1/1's.

I believe that this is the only Mino Wagner batting pose known:

Hey Clayton
I have so many I could have hogged this whole thread. Here is what I believe is still, arguably, a card from the rarest cataloged set.

That t216 Wagner is off the charts. I don't even care about the back. I mean, the back is a beaut, but what I love about the card is the big-ass borders and a great pose.

it's not one individual card, but as a group, i dont believe this can be replicated. I just added the Williams (thanks Leon, and Bob Freedman for helping me hunt it down)

Still Missing: Klein, Manush, Dickey, Vaughan, and Averill if anyone wants to participate in helping me close the HOF 39 signed set.

Yes and no. I put super high prices on my personal collection stuff, the first day, so people would quit asking me if they were for sale. Fortunately none sold.

I'll let you know if I ever see another. Took $4800 to pry this one loose from the previous owner, so if another one arises I don't know if I'd be in the market, but if I see one I'd tell you. Obviously, trying to put the '39 HOF set together, so that the focus right now.

very cool. So were they trimmed down? I can't tell if those are the natural borders or if that's what it looked like. Either way, super neat pieces. The beauty of the B&W photo with some color touches. Really neat.

I found information about these in a book "Baseball Treasures" copywrite 1992. Copies in the book have square corners, so these are probably trimmed.

They are dated 1909 on the bottom, along with The Curtis Advertising Co., Detroit size 4.25 x 6.75.

I'm sure there's another one of these out there, but for the life of me I haven't been able to find one. It's roughly 7x10 on heavy cardboard and I believe it was a window display sometime in the 1914-1916 range. Any of you guys know anything about it? Gotta love anything with Grover's dashing visage on it.

Sorry about bumping this card up again (well, not really :D) but the amazing thing about this card is the RARITY. Last I remembered there was only a Xerox of the Bigbee card from the T231 Fan type, correct? And maybe I'm wrong, but the actual card has never surfaced-so- to have a T231 WITH Baker is so awesome !!!! It's like THE only card from such an obscure set-you are a lucky guy :) Leon. That would be one I could never let go of * unless the price was right;):D* !!!!

Thanks again for showing that super rare card Leon !!!

Sincerely, Clayton

Hi Clayton
Thanks for the kind words. It's a cool card from a rarity standpoint. There is at least one other physical one known too, besides the Baker, #65 Larry Gardner. A hobby friend and (lurker) board member has it. I would guess I will have Baker until I sell my collection or otherwise quit collecting.

ps...cool Herpolsheimers, Jeff....

Nice- I didn't know about this Gardner either. Well, that makes 2 actual cards and a known Xerox copy (until it resurfaces).:D

Still makes it extremely rare. And Leon, something tells me you'll always be collecting ;)
