James, from what you posted over in the Proxibid thread, it doesn't matter if there is a photo of the COA or if it is verbally stated:

"Any sellers listing items that have been authenticated by the above organizations will have those lots removed from their auction. If any lots do not specify the authenticator and show a picture of the certificate/letter of authenticity, the lot will be removed from the auction. Additionally, Proxibid reserves the right to pull a lot from an auction if they find that the authenticator is not reputable."

The part about the photo just specifies that the seller cannot get away with showing the bad COA in a photo without mentioning it in the description.

of course they are...what did you think, they were going to have someone police their site like e-bay.:D They would have to hire a full time authenticator. To pull forgeries from that platform will not happen too quickly, but the work you all have been doing to get them to see the big picture is admirable!!!

Keep up the good fight all!

Wymers Auction 05-11-2012 10:30 AM

I just got a text from the auction company LLP that their autos have been authenticated and to stop harassing them. They said that the Gehrig was an error. I asked them who authenticated these items and there was silence.

Your bid was retracted on the following lot:

Thank you very much, James. I've been doing this for over eight years and Richard's been doing it longer than I have.

Sorry

Update to this thread.
www.goldandsilverauctionsonline.com , the website for LLP Auctions is now "disabled". Being that former proprieter Nicholas Bergum comes from a long line of auctioneers, I'll be monitoring his future endeavors. A legitimate business just wouldn't close up shop, IMO.

The update is appreciated, Jim.

And I agree with your last comment.

RichardSimon 05-19-2012 02:12 PM

I never saw that on the web "disabled" site.
Guy comes from a long line of auctioneers,, could he be the black sheep?
