One of those weird situations where you sell a card on Ebay, regret selling it, and then see it pop back up on Ebay a few months later. Happy to have it back.

Great cabinet, Patrick. Congrats!

A bunch of nice cards showed up at my house today! Picked up a sweet 1908 American Lg. Pub. Co. postcard of Charles Berger and a fantastic, high grade (PSA 8!) 1908 Detroit Free Press postcard of Ed Summers from forum member Bicem (Jeff P.). The coupons are both from forum member simas7173. Thanks for the great cards guys!

Bresnahan
Jeff - That picture of Bresnahan is awesome - I love the pictures of the catchers with the old protective equipment. Always wished the T206 set had a card of Bresnahan with the catching gear (not just the portrait and batting).

Hello all, new to the forum. Started collecting again a couple years ago after I randomly picked up a pack of 2009 Topps Heritage at a Target to share with my kids. I used to collect when I was a kid, have reclaimed many of those cards and then some.

Maybe blue fountain pen ink that someone has tried to get out? Just a thought. Perhaps the original owner was using as a blotter and then some collector got the card and soaked it in something to try and get rid of the ink. The rest of the card looks so worn that I have to think it's been soaked a bunch.

T202 Wheat Signed
Bought this on ebay many years ago. Sold it in a Mastro auction after I acquired a dupe. Just bought it back this month because I traded my dupe a couple of years ago. Very happy to welcome it back into the (triple) fold....

This aquisition actually started in August
Lot of eight PSA graded cards with front scans only. I could see that two of the cards had the MK qualifier, but no mention of what earned the card the MK. After several emails to the seller, found that one of the cards did have Howe's stamp, as did five other cards he found in his collection rather quickly.

Never imagined when I started four and a half years ago I would ever find half this many. |

Back from the technologically dead. I had to replace my ten year old computer and put in a new scanner to boot. I just want to thank Mike, Lauri and Mike for the cards. I also visited another flea market and an antique store. The first picture I know is off topic, but it is of a pre-War player (good one too) and I have to admit I chose to post here instead of the memorabilia section. The second picture is of Thomas d'Alesandro (who?!), the mayor of Baltimore when MLB was deciding where to move a pre-WWII franchise in the St. Louis Browns. Peeping Toms and politicians :D.

Orioles1954,
Thank You for the information. I also found in researching d'Alesandro that his son, Thomas L. J. D'Alesandro III, was also mayor of Baltimore from 1967-1971, but I'm digressing from the topic. I will have to be down again from posting scans because the transfer of files on my computer did not get all of my scans, so back to the shop it goes. |
Partial scans of my October pickups. Still waiting on about 10 cards to arrive.
