They aren't cards, but I took home these two lots . . . very excited.
|
I didn't win anything. I was outbid on a few items at around 3:30 am. I wish it would have ended sooner.
|
Nice pickups everyone. I was in and out quicker than I was in high school.
Still fun to see what everyone got. Congrats... |
Even though i am on the west coast i cant stay up that late:o
Best pickup is surely Steve's. The lil' fella looks high grade to me but please don't slab him ;) My eye was on the Yorks, but I only wanted a few cards. I didnt want to tie up that much cash knowing how dumb I get about having dupes...instead of selling/trading I just start a second set...no willpower and lazy:o so the winner of any of the Yorks, contact me if you have extras for sale. I need several upgrades although my base set (type 1) is complete. |
rea pick ups!!

REA Auction Lot#515
Did anyone at Net54 win this lot? I would
like to purchase one of the cards? |
David - incredible N690, congrats!
|
Love Seeing Everyone's Pickups
Congrats to everyone! It is always exciting to see everyone's pick ups after a big auctiuon even if you didn't win anything yourself!:o As everyone else seems to agree, Steve and his wife got the best pick up of the night!
Best Wishes to all! ** Always looking to buy the E98s that I need. Please see the BST fo my want list. Thanks Tim Kindler |
After hoping for months it is finally over, the T215 Bender is mine I am so happy !!
Steve how could you leave your bids and go to the hospital and have your first kid ? You need to get your prioritys in order !! Congrats !!!! |
Johnny great card! So happy for ya!
Cheers, John |
Thanks John !! I see you did pretty good yourself congrats wow !! After seeing the Auth Plank go for 35k makes the one you got last year look like grand larceny !!
|
Nada
If anyone won the lot of E135 cards please contact me.
A big Congratulations to Steve for the greatest addition of all. James G |
Quote:
Personally, I would restore the card. It has already been trimmed and will never grade higher than "AUTH" so why not improve its appearance? Like the T206 Wagner in this auction - it was restored twice, the second time to improve it even more. I have no idea if it would hurt the value, however. Tabe |

Broke the bank to pick up this bad boy, my first Red Sox Ruth.
|
Gary:
Congrats, that was a steal at that price! |
Congrats to Steve and the missus. Time to start saving. Msg sent
Gary, great pc. That was my favorite item of all. |
No Babe Ruth
No Babe Ruth, but I did pick up my first REA win-- a lot of 10 e102 in nice shape. I think I got a nice deal.
|
|
Gary - great Ruth
really nice! |
On the off chance that the winner of the sepia ER Williams breaks up the set, I would be interested in acquiring one as type.

If anybody won the lot of 22 49 Leaf Short Prints, I am interested in a few of them.
THanks! Great pickups guys. |

Nice! I got the graded T9 set. John |
Great Ruth rppc Gary, one of my favorite auction items as well!
|
Thanks, guys, appreciate it. Definitely the cornerstone of my collection right now.
|
Underbidder...
Struck out swinging on the T210-8 Series lot after fouling several off. I placed 4 straight bids late to push that sub-set up quite a bit... (Someone wanted the set really bad at $235 per card) Placed about a dozen bids overall, and came up empty this year.

California
John (Wonka),
Amazing pickups!!!! It was a California night for me. JimB http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/2005/...enutchance.jpghttp://img717.imageshack.us/img717/7...381mcginty.jpg |
Great pickups everyone
Jim B. love the Hess! |
Congratulations everyone on the great pickups. Cosmo, That n172 Delahanty is spectacular.
|
Jim B
I think you got that SF Hess for a steal at that price. Great card and who knows when you will see another example from that set. |
totally agree
Quote:
I totally agree and even said so the night of the auction. Great pickup for 60% of the real market value, imo. |
Thanks guys. I am very excited about it. I was surprised to get it for that price too after chatting with Leon on auction night. Glad we were wrong.
JimB |
Adam, great Ringside...... glad it has Leonard for you, but Marciano ain't bad n'either ....... :)
Tbob, sorry to see your e90-1's go so low :( ....... someone got deal of the auction. |
I agree with Leon. Easily a 10k card. If I had any idea it would go that cheap i would have been more aggressive in pursuing it. I also think the 'common' Kbat Mets went cheap as well.

I got this V61 Ruth...was up until Auction ending to make sure I got it...then woke up a couple hours later to run the Tough Mudder @ Mt. Snow, Vermont...that's dedication!!!
|
Jim,
Wow that Hess is super you got a good deal! And the Chance well that aint shabby either! As always I love seing your cards. Cheers, John |
Ruth Postcard
Quote:
Congrats Gary - From now on I will try to vicariously get enjoyment from that awesome Ruth Postcard everytime I see your avatar. I was considering pulling the trigger but looks like it went to a good home. Congrats again. peter |

Thanks Scott. I have no clue what happened. 14k and an SMR (which is nowhere near what they go for on ebay, they sell for more) of 22k or so. Darned if I know. Like I say, we live and learn. The E90-1 set has never been a "hot" set like some of the other sets but where else can you get two Wagners, Cobb, Matty, all the HOFers and all those scarce variation and horizontal cards? I'm just glad I didn't buy the Joe Jackson and added it to the set to make it complete. There's another E90-1 near set of 119/120 (minus Joe) in Mile High right now with a minimum bid of 25k. Maybe that didn't help. Oh well I'll take the 14k and plow it back in to more cards. :o |

What? Nobody has their winnings in hand yet? Rob must have blown a tire on the delivery truck.

Thanks guys.
Really fun auction, picked up my stuff from REA today (Thanks Dean, Tom & Rob) still sitting in my office it's 2am and I'm still pulling Obaks out of sheets and they are in unreal condition be dropping these sets off to SGC this week. I feel like I'm 12 again, almost makes me sad to pull them from the sheets. :o Maybe I should have a guess the grades game...LOL Cheers, John |
:) Steve- congrats on Jude !!! An awesome pick up for sure!! :)
Sincerely, Clayton |
:) no doubt, steve had the best pick up of us all! congrats to you and the mrs, and welcome to net 54 jude michael :D
|
Not sure if I overpaid or not on lot #423, but I'm sure excited about it! I'm definitely keeping the Wagner, but I may put a few of these up on eBay.

While I like the Wagner, I am totally amazed it got a '2' with that big water stain across the front of the card. That makes the other '2'' in the same grouping look like a '4'......
|
M116 Lajoie
M's Fan - do you happen to know why the Lajoie got a 2? I don't see any any stains or creasing from the scan, maybe something on the back?
Nice group anyway, congrats. Tony |

That Wagner...I can't get over that oil slick on there. Is that going to be a prime candidate for a soaking?
|
Quote:
|
It never occurred to me that a stain like that could be removed by soaking. Glue and tobacco can soak off, but I wouldn't guess stains like that would go away. But I've never soaked anything so I don't know much about this.

With all the Seinfeld fans on here I am suprised that I didn't see the Monk's Diner menu mentioned. Anyone pick it up?
|
REA just ended--looking fror 3 lot winners
1) Did anyone here win any of the Domino Discs (I need 7 Reds commons) ?
2) How about the Silks (I need 3) ? 3) Or the Reds (Red Belts) PC's ? Thanks, Len |
this goes in the BST section.... Please do not bring back old threads on the front page to sell things. Thanks
