I love flea markets. Thank You, Bob and Thank You, Lou. Also, a special thanks to border member Pat (Mintacular) for giving me the tip on what Bob had to offer at his table:

Johnny...
...I bet there's a portrait of Cobb with a red background on the front of that Piedmont Factory 42. Let's see....thanks.

I can finally cross this one off my most wanted cards list :)
http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/f...%20NFT/TEC.jpg |
1921 Herpolsheimer's John Henry (one of the few fom the set that never made the E121 card set, which isn't surprising since he was out of the major leagues in 1918, and hadn't played with the Washington Senators since 1917! A very strange inclusion in the set that I had been looking for for quite a while.)
http://www.starsofthediamond.com/her...imerhenry2.JPG And two other random pickups, a 1923 Tomas Gutierrez card of Joe DeBerry, and a Crescent Selkirk card of Hockey trainer Bowman (you tend to see less Bowman's b/c who wanted the trainer?): http://www.starsofthediamond.com/tom...rezdeberry.JPG http://www.starsofthediamond.com/crescentbowman.JPG |

The spot over Matty's shoulder looks like a 747 coming in for a landing with its lights blazing lol.

Buffalo Bisons

I found this little rarity in Baltimore. Ray looks as though he could still play in 1932!
Cheers, Mike |
Brian- Nice caramel card pick-ups. Those are two of the toughest ones in the set, but then you already knew that ;)
|
Great card Mike, enjoyed seeing it at the show!
|
Thanks, Jeff, but your PCs were a tad more impressive. I can still picture the Rotograph.....

I like this pose of Chance, reminds me of his T3 Turkey Red
|
Thank You Bob.
Yes indeed, 2 of the tougher E97's to acquire. Still not real close on the set however--a few more toughies to locate. BTW, congrats on the E106 Schaefer. A real nice card from a difficult set. Also, hope that Your E94 quest is close to completion So many nice cards in this thread. An amazing group of t213 Type 3's etc. Congrats all. |
T206 Chase Polar Bear

Great Matty CB, and great Chance E98's! Maybe that's the card I'll get from the E98 set for my Cubs team type set.

Anthony that sure is a nice looking Old Judge.
|
Thanks, Mike. It has an MK designation due to some period-looking writing on the back (as well as a modern "1887"), but I really couldn't care less about such things.

Love the Blues!

Another E98 knocked off of my want list. I love the Blue Backgrounds. They are my favorite of the four colors. I think they help the image of the player come off in a 3D look.
If you have any E98s to sell, please see my want list on the BST that shows the ones that I need. Thanks, Tim Kindler |

Pete, that is a nice card and he is not one of the easiest find to the set, either!
|
Is that Conroy real?? Looks grainy to me and the name doesn't look right.
Maybe my eyes are going....... just past 40 and all |
I hope I'm wrong.
I hope I'm wrong, but I agree with Jim, that Conroy lools fake from the color on the card, the image of his head to the really sharp white corners corners.
I'm not an expert though! Tim Kindler |
I hope i am wrong too, now that i no longer have a women here to remind how wrong i am everyday, i am never sure anymore.
|
that card looks real to me...nothing wrong with that one...:o

Another 1912 Zeenut
1 Attachment(s)
Just received another nice 1912 Zeenut this morning.
I just need Claude Berry, Walter Boles, and Dad Rohrer to complete the run of catchers in the set. Many thanks to Greg from the memorabilia side for this one. Patrick |

A few more T206's I've been trying to get for a while. I bought the Parker RC and sent it to him requesting a signature. Was very psyched when I got it back. At 98, Parker is the 3rd oldest former major leaguer alive today, and a member of the Football Hall of Fame. He was a two sport athlete (NFL and MLB) in 1937 and 1938. Plus, he went to Duke, so you know he's a legend! :D
