picked this up as a kid many years ago, birthday gift from my parents. my first (and still only) large single-item purchase, and my first T206. would be tough to part with...

p.s. sorry for resurrecting an "old" thread, but didn't have access to a working scanner for a little while.

Obviously not the Best of Show, but my first T206. In his day, Germany Schaffer was quite a player. The first to think of "stealing" first, for example. From second, of course, to distract the pitcher and allow a runner on third to score.

Someday my son, with whom I've collected this and all the others, will get it. And he won't sell it either.

Not PreWar But.......

I'm not a Preward collector, but this is my best card! Never thought I would own one of these.

White Cap Mellow Mint Bender

After a week long battle of going back and forth trying to find a middle ground I was able to reach an aggreement and am so happy I got this card !! It was tough because no previous sales were there to compare to and when I hit the ' I have to have this card' mode there was no turning back and in the end everything worked out and I couldn't be happier !! Thanks Jim B !!

My best

I don't really know what my best is? This isn't my most valuable, but it is probably my favorite.

This question comes up every once in a while so I'm sure everyone is sick of seeing these cards, but my dad gave these to me when I was a kid, they were my first prewar cards...he found them in a scrapbook. Some day I will pass them on to my son.

Rob- is that one of the merry magpies, Heckle or Jeckle, in your latest avatar?

It's just a buzzard, like me. Except he doesn't have a PC to sit at, "waiting to swoop down on others."

barrysloate 08-25-2010 07:18 PM

A buzzard and a magpie are not the same.

In the same vein of the Tinker/Chance/Evers T202 but obviously postwar.

I think that this is my favorite. Three top shelf HOFers on one card all to be had for well within a teacher's budget.
