A few More E98s closer to the master!
3 Attachment(s)
Thanks to a couple fellow board members who replied to my monthly E98 want list. I appreciate the opportunity to purchase them. The two blue ones have a miscut back to them. Interesting variation since the fronts are fine. If anyone has anymore to sell, please check my want list on the BST.
I would love to buy more that I need. Thanks, Tim Kindler Oh, beautiful E98 Lajoies posted earlier in this thread. My hat is off to you. Tbob, great to see you got a few more E94s closer to the master. |
I picked up the E270 Tin Top Frank Manush (Toledo) recently, as I already had the New Orleans version. Notice how they corrected the spelling mistake on the Toledo version. Frank was Heinie's older brother...
http://starsofthediamond.com/tintopmanusch.JPG http://starsofthediamond.com/tintopmanush.JPG Also picked up two new E270 Red Borders, Otto Williams and some guy named Speaker... http://starsofthediamond.com/e270williams.JPG http://starsofthediamond.com/e270speaker.JPG I also picked up about (100) 1924-27 Zeenuts from that large group recently auctioned on ebay... http://www.starsofthediamond.com/24zeehall.JPG http://www.starsofthediamond.com/25zeecutshaw.JPG http://www.starsofthediamond.com/26zeezaeffel.JPG http://www.starsofthediamond.com/27zeebrady.JPG also, tell me it doesn't look like Charlie Pick just didn't finish groovin' (disco style)! http://www.starsofthediamond.com/24zeepick.JPG |
Love the Speaker, Rhett. You never see that one.

Great E270 Speaker, Rhett.
Here is a W571/D305 Bond Bread 1947 Perforated Holmes/Chappius. This is the front and back, or the back and front....uh...well, never mind on front and back but here is a weird looking one.....and since I do pre-1950 types my apologies for the slightly OT year of mfg. |
T206's

Jeff -
That B18 Blanket looks pretty frickin cool in an SGC holder. would be even cooler if SGC slabbed it with a diamond cutout (image and type would be straight).... but either way - that is pretty nice looking. |
Joe, I hadn't thought of that -- and it's a great idea, I wonder why they don't have their inserts that way? I can't imagine many other issues could be used for the square insert used for the blanket. A diamond shape would look awesome. I'm guessing Dave probably nixed the idea, after all he hates kittens and puppies too and caused the rain last night in Manhattan.

That is a nice B-18 Cobb.
As for the comments about it being holdered diaganally, I agree that B-18s would look better that way, but they won't fit that way in the holder. Diaganal dimensions for a B-18 are 7 7/16". The holder is the same one SGC uses for T3s. Diaganally, the width of a B-18 exceeds the holder's width by just over 1/4" (that's without the black frame, ie., between the clear plastic edges. If/when SGC creates a holder to contain 8x10 photos, or for instance, M101-2 Sporting News Supplements, that would hold a B-18 diaganally. Steve |

Picked up an autograph of the man who board members widely confirm to be the 2nd best 2nd baseman to never win the world series. :D
Follow up hint. I was in Albuquerque. First person to write his name or African animal nickname wins 10 cents on the napkin. Takers? |
Ryne Sandberg? (Rhino)
Hopefully the next Cubs manager. Greg |
That's exactly what I told him too.
