Beware of this guy

Posted By: Justin Fung
I bought this Wallace off the same seller a few months ago and not only do the edges look frosted, but the card looks slightly trimmed on the bottom right side. This picture doesnt do much to back up my claim, but I will try to provide better pics illustrating the cut of the card some time tomorrow.

Posted By: jim
I looked at the seller's feedback, and he did not take paypal for any of the T206 cards he sold and also the one E-90 he sold. Paypal was accepted for everything else.

Posted By: Scott
I've had transactions with the seller in question in the past on some e90-1 cards. They have all gone well and I've left him positive feedback.

It seems to me that the buyer has some responsibility here to respond quicker that 3 months later.

Live and learn.

Scott (ubiqty)

Posted By: Jason Duncan
The Johnson appears trimmed as well as the Tinker is clearly trimmed. No surprises with PSA.

Tony-

I really do not think you have a recourse with the seller. You chose to send it to PSA and try to get it bumped or whatever. If it were me, I think I would have checked a $2k card as soon as I received it, and surely noticed the paper loss or crease. At that point I think there would be seller responsibility. Considering you sent it to PSA it really leaves PSA now as the party to deal with. I wish you the best of luck.

Shawn and Sean-

Just because someone doesn't accept paypal doesn't mean they are a shady or bad seller. I have sold numerous high end cards to members here as well as 4000+ positives on ebay as a seller with no negs. I do not take paypal simply because I do not want to pay their fees. It has not affected the number of items I sell or the mount I get for them (I used to take paypal). If buyers do not like that, then they can shop elsewhere. It's as simple as that.

Jason

Posted By: Dave Haas
Tony III,
When PSA graded it a 2 did they give the card a new certification number? If you look up the cert # shown on the card you bought it shows it was graded a 2. Was it a 2 originally and the flip was changed? It appears so.

Posted By: Sean
I agree Jason; I never mentioned that dealing with a seller who doesn't take PayPal is shady or bad seller, I was mearly correcting an earlier post (that was edited*) stating he didn't take PayPal only on this card.

Sean

*edit - deleted to edited*

Posted By: leon
When you say you had a post deleted I assume it was you who deleted it? Deleting posts from known users is a no-no and I would want to know if that has happened. Also, there could be deletions to operationally challenged posts but that is another situation altogether. best regards

Posted By: Shawn Chambers
This is the other Shawn and not the Shawn of Shawn / Sean!

I do wonder why PSA/SGC etc can't use a thin foil hologram, sticky on both sides, inserted in the slab so if the slab were opened it would tear or rip this hologram foil (one could be inserted at the top and bottom if need be). A good hologram would be hard to replicate and this would hopefully cut down on the slab tampering. If not this then maybe something along the lines of a foil hologram strip with a unique image similar to what you see on a CD case maybe on the edges of the slab...those things are a real pain to get off a CD case. Anything would help.

Some new security device needs to be implemented soon!

Shawn

Posted By: Rob
i'm sure when submission sales start slumping, then the big companies will come up with a better slab. Just think of all the new income that can be generated from existing slab-owners!!! Its like PSA with their 1/2 grades.

As much as Beckett gets ripped, its pretty tough (comparitively) to tamper with their slabs vs PSA/SGC.

Rob

Posted By: Tony III
When I bought the card, the cert via the on-line tool stated it was a 6. PSA did not change the cert# of the card, they changed the grade. So today, if you type in that number, it will say 2.
Posted By: Steve
Well if that is the case then I think they should be paying the difference between a 2 and a 6.

Something does not add up.

Steve

Posted By: Steve
Because that would mean that a true 6 was at one time issued for that cert.

If they claim the card was switched then I would think you would have a 'do over'

edited to add: A new cert should have been issued. By using the original cert they are basically
saying we overgraded cert #..........

Steve
