Posted By: Denny Walsh
Barry & Dan,
My deepest sympathies go out to you & yours. i will bend a knee & send a prayer to our maker for all of your comfort when i'm finished writing this. i feel your pain & have lived with it for quite some time now. Until i was 6 years old i lived in Astoria, NY. my Ma & Da worked real hard for us to move out on Long Island. Ma's Dream was for us to live in the country. For the next 7 years i was able to live with a Ma that Loved me enough to last me a life time. When i was 13 she suddenly passed away, she had a stroke at 56 years young. Jan 4th is Ma's birthday. So, when January rolls around my thoughts always turn to Ma! My dearest Ma. i'm 48 now, & i still miss her... at times...terribly!
Always knowing though that her Love still remains with me. What a Blessing she was to me!

Time for a knee & a Prayer....

Life's Grand,
Denny Walsh

Posted By: Steve Dawson
Barry and Dan, I'm so sorry to hear of your moms' passing. I lost my mom suddenly five years ago. Absolutely nothing can prepare you for that phone call telling you that a parent has died. She would have celebrated her 80th birthday 2 days ago. Although I believe it was a blessing that she died when she did, as she was in the early stages of colon cancer, I still miss her to this day.

I want to pass on my heartfelt condolences and prayers to each of you and your family, and sincerely hope you find peace and strength in this time of sorrow.

Steve

Posted By: barry arnold
My deepest sympathy and condolences to you both during these most difficult times.
One of my favorite thinkers is Sam Keen who said simply yet poignantly at the death of his father that he realized he had lost his hero.
When I lost both my father and mother, I knew and felt exactly what he meant.
I'm sure you know and feel it,too, Barry and Dan.

Barry

Posted By: Richard Cline - RC
My condolences to both Barry and Dan. Definitely difficult times that many of us have had to endure. I tend to remember very positive moments with my parents and try to continue to make decisions that would make them proud.

Even though this is mostly a cyber-family, hopefully the thoughts and prayers help to ease some of the pain.

My best, RC

Posted By: barrysloate
Thanks again for everyone's kind thoughts. The response has been overwhelming.

Last night we had a NYC Net54 dinner and Leon joined us (as most already know). It was so uplifting to be among friends, and such a great group of people. It certainly made one of the most difficult weeks of my life a whole lot easier.

Posted By: Tom Boblitt
Agree with all the sentiments about BOTH of you guys in terms of dealing with you. SO sorry about your loss. When seeing friends go through this, I can only think about the fact we all have to go through it some day. Hopefully, we all remember to enjoy the moments we have with them now and forget the little stuff that gets in the way of understanding how important those relationships are sometimes. Will pray for both you guys.
