Posted By: Bill
This company actually has a page that says they will encapsulate a card with the grade you say it is. Better yet, they will send you the slabs and you do the work yourself. Now that's good stuff!

Change your socks, drink water, and drive on.

Posted By: Vanessa Phipps
Hey I am going to pursue this thief thru my local police and the FBI. Does anybody have any advice on my pursuit thru the FBI I.E. on the internet? I only lost $1100 to this person, but if a billion dollar company doesnt care about us thousandaires or less, like EBAY is showing with letting this thief relist with ease, then the FBI needs to be involved. Any help or advice with this matter would be appreciated.

Posted By: Vanessa Phipps
I just got a call from my local police department and they called the phone number of george hudson who as it turns out is jennifer hudsons husband. Jennefer claims that she never gets on the internet and that her husband is the one behind the scams.LOL. She is being prosecuted because the cashiers check was made out to her and she cashed it. My local police dept. is faxing a copy of the police report to anniston, AL police dept. also. She is going to be subpoena by my local prosicuting attorney on monday. I have an appointment on monday with my local FBI office also. I may not get one penny back, but hopefully another ebay scammer will be shut down. Thank all of you for your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted By: Jeff Lichtman
Vanessa -- I'm stunned at the competency of the various law enforcement offices involved -- stunned. My guess is you WILL get some money back but it will depend on how many people got scammed. If it's just a few thousand bucks that people were scammed out of, your fraudster may somehow find the money to pay back in order to avoid going to prison.

Posted By: David Smith
It would be nice if Vanessa gets some of her money returned but unless her Attorney is working for free, whatever she gets back is going to go right back out the door to pay fees.

Looking past that, if one or both of the Hudsons go to jail that will mean they have a record. THAT might make them think twice the next time they try to scam somebody. It will also make it harder for eBay to justify why they allowed these two to be admitted to the club, so to speak, if they ever try to get back on and sell things. Also, if OTHER scam artists hear that a couple of people have been arrested and jailed and that eBay helped in the investigation and ultimate conviction, then they might also think twice about scamming people.

Posted By: Vanessa Phipps
Hey you know I am not even worried about the money any more. I mean I just want to put the low life piece of s@#$! In jail or just scare them to where they wont do this anymore. I would love to have the money back though, but these kind of people really piss me off. I have a genius I.Q. and the fooled me? That really pisses me off. I am embarrassed to tell you the truth. Once again thank you guys who have helped me along the way. Thank you leon especially.

Posted By: andrew
When i saw the ad i was truly skeptical about this item. I ask him if he wanted to do a trade for these cards, he accepted the trade and we were negotiating what to do. I saw he put up the card again on eBay. So i was like wtf. He said that he would try to stick up people and repeatedly told me that he is not a person that does that.He said he had rotator cuff surgery and he needed cash. I was about to trade him 15 different cards that were ok in value but i didn't think he would accept. He said hes a mix collector and wanted different cards than those three he was selling. He also said he know people in the FBI that if he did do that he would be arrested. Thanks for letting me know that hes is a crook.

Posted By: Chris East
In addition to federal authorities, you might contact the Alabama Attorney General's office as well.

I know off the top of my head that in at least one instance in the past couple of years there has been a criminal conviction (theft by deception) resulting from an eBay deal gone awry (I believe it involved a tractor). I can't remember the appellant's name, but I believe the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals affirmed the conviction in a published opinion.

I also know that within the past 5-6 years there has been another conviction in Alabama state courts involving an individual in Alabama who was selling old/antique vehicles (some cars, I think there was an old Army jeep, etc). If memory serves me correctly he would list the vehicles on vehicle trade boards, mags, etc, perhaps misrepresenting their condition. The Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals affirmed, but I don't recall whether it was by published opinion or unpublished memorandum.
