Posted By: anthony
Bruce,

same card for me... Buck Weaver's 1911 zeenut.

he's got that "take the damn picture so I can play some ball!" look...

I put this card at the top of my want list when I saw Julie's on her website/collection. it took several years but I finally got one about 6 weeks ago thanks to a fellow board member...

the n162 king kelly is a close second, sends me back in time to playing ball with either no gloves or sharing gloves

What is the most powerful card image to you?

Posted By: Paul S
Leslie - during my limited time on this board I've stuck to pre-war, which would have had me putting the t206 Cobb bat on (for various reasons.)
However, I kept coming back to this. It's so romanticized, not just the pose, but that it's taken at dusk (I imagine)during preseason, using what I guess is the photographer's spot light etc. It just all came together, IMO. I'm not particularly even a Bklyn fan.

Posted By: Glenn
The Benz T207 has always just reminded me of this guy:

For me the most powerful card image is probably Cobb sliding into third in the T202 center panel.

What is the most powerful card image to you?

Posted By: John S
Most powerful...the determined "I hate the world and the world hates me"
look on Cobb's T205. I think Beckett Vintage did a story about four years ago about the T205's and included the original photo used for the T205 Cobby.

Someone asked about smiling players. Most of the pictures of Dots Miller show him smiling (including his T205). He is also the only Pirate smiling in the 1909 team picture used for the M101-2 issue.

Posted By: Dylan
Wow... the non-sport cards sure take "powerful" images too a much more serious and disturbing level. I'm a little surprised cards like this were marketed to children but I guess during the hard times of WW2 all bets were off.
