Is PSA really grading emojis now?

I think there is an issue uploading comments using the mobile taptalk app. Maybe Leon knows what it is. It’s happened a couple of times.

Thanks for taking the time to share your video with all of us. I’ve been frustrated too with some vintage HOF cards that had been previously slabbed coming back minimum size. My take, like yours, is that the standards weren’t as exacting back then and get kicked today by some optical scanner. Again, thanks for posting.

You're welcome! But to be clear, the video linked in Post #1 is not mine.... it was posted on YouTube by long-time hobby expert and dealer, Jon English. I was simply sharing it out, as it was going unnoticed, with very few views at the time (under 100). It has since garnered over 7,000 additional views.

I wanted to share it since PSA's top management continues to deceive the public, insisting that their grading standards have not changed over time. While it is quite obvious to anyone who's been paying attention, many novice collectors and PSA Apologists have a sheeplike mentality that won't allow them to admit the truth. I guess it's just human nature to want to protect your investment, but when people are continually getting screwed by a dishonest and corrupt corporate entity, it needs to be brought to light.

The recent influx of "Min size not met" and excessive up-charges are huge concerns as well. Hopefully people will speak with their wallets, and send a strong message to PSA by refusing to submit. Then perhaps, some much needed change and honest dialogue can finally take place.

I have never experienced this with SGC. And have never even heard that it's happened to anyone else. As long as the card has not been damaged, SGC simply re-holders it in the new slab with the same grade.

But you'd better act fast, as the PSA/Collectors influence seems to be engulfing SGC like a deadly man-eating virus. If I was looking to re-holder with SGC, I would not hesitate, and do it now.

Yea - Not so much with SGC either - I sent 10 of these cards (dead ringers for a minimum 6 grade) and every single card came back like this.

And lately I’ve had some with SGC that I expected 4’s to 6’s on, that came back all 6’s and 7’s.

Who knows.

Totally agree, but realize as long as PSA slabs generally hold their value, this will never happen. The fat cats have too much sunk cost at this point to tamper with the investment.

Apparently manufactured scarcity is the big ticket these days.

To the original point, from what I have seen lately, many times grading makes little sense.
