One P42 Young in waiting when I got back from vacation and this one just got dropped off now! When it rains it pours. I may use one for trading stock, or maybe one for the backs line and one for the P42 group.

Happy mail day, two days in a row!

Enjoy,
Bob

Who says there aren't inexpensive playing day cards of Ruth. So, there's an uneven top border. So, I'm going to baseball collectors anonymous soon.

Great, colorful looking E106 Speaker. The glossiness seen on the E106 cards really can intensify its look.

Even non-superstars can have great looking cards. Here is a R314 Goudey Wide Pen card of Gee Walker, who also wasn't too big of a schlub...almost .300 career lifetime hitter, almost 2000 hits, almost 1000 RBI's...

Here is my beat one...it serves as a great, colorful looking filler for the E90-1 Speaker I will never own.

My 40th Cracker Jack Card

3 Attachment(s)
Just got this back from the eBay Authenticator on Friday…..yes…..it’s authentic.
1914 Ray Fisher Cracker Jack Card #102. Seems like this one came in a box with a little caramel stain . And Edmond , whoever he was , signed on the back above the line. All Cracker Jack prices are crazy these days, but the 1914’s are insane. Probably paid a little too much( esp with all the tax and fee heaped on) , but glad to have gotten it.
You especially don’t see as many Cracker Jack cards for sale here on the forum as one used to.

I believe I have had my Speaker for about 20 years. If you got rid of your beater somewhere in that time range, I might just have your former card. If I remember correctly, there was a seller on Ebay that was selling a bunch of similar, well-creased (a lot of vertical creases) E106 cards around that time...perhaps that was you? If so, cool for me, and congrats on getting a nice belated upgraded replacement.

@molenick that O’Hara is one beautiful card! I believe the Dockman & Sons is the smallest subset with just 40 cards.

And also by far the most common...without looking at the pop reports I have a feeling that the total existing cards in the other three E92 sets combined (Croft's Candy, Croft's Cocoa, Nadja) don't come close to the total of Dockman cards available.

Brian

molenick 04-21-2025 10:14 AM

Thank you. FWIW, I have 8 Dockman, 5 Nadja, and 1 Crofts Candy.

T215's

Picked up a couple T215's. Although the Doyle is not labeled correctly, I will probably just leave it in the holder as is.

Now down to 104 missing from a complete set

This should be sitting at my desk when I return to work, so now down to missing 104 cards if Howe had a complete set at any time.

Taking a hard turn here, guys, at any age you need to have your PSA (prostate-specific antigen) level checked.

Just about a year ago, I started not feeling well. Move forward seven months and I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. While it won’t kill you, it does spread to other tissues and organs and can kill you there.

I was lucky that after many PET, CAT, and MRI scans, it was determined it was still located only in the prostate gland, and last Friday, I had a robotic radical prostatectomy. It’s kicked my ass (I’ve never really had a surgery before, so that was a long nine hours for my wife to sit through). But I’m lucky that when I finally do heal, there isn't a chance of it spreading. It’s gone.

Guys, do what you can to prevent it, catch it, or stop it from spreading. For yourself and your family.

Leon 04-25-2025 08:39 AM

Coongrats Sam. Those are wonderful looking T215s!

I’ve been doing genealogy research with my mom for months, mostly because there is a lot available for her mother’s family tree and not much available for the families of my other three grandparents. Anyway, I talked to my aunt (mom’s sister) on Sunday about all of the stuff I found. She asked about her dad’s side. I said I had very little, and then she just drops “My dad’s cousin was boxer Mickey Walker. Supposedly he was pretty good.”

I asked my mom about it and she said “We called him uncle Mickey!” then tells me stories I’m hearing for the first time in my life about a guy who has been ranked as high as the 11th best boxer ever. How did that not come up during three months of research talk? Crazy. So I had to buy a card. I’ll get more in the future

The importance of health issues like this can't be understated. Whether it's you, your significant other or another close family member, by all means, take it seriously. Supporting loved ones with serious long-term chronic issues is life-changing.

Thank you, Ed, for this reminder, and I am glad you got diagnosed and treated, and I hope your continued recovery is uneventful and you return to full health and spirit quickly.
