Nice collection of strips- Jeff
What always bugged me is tpg’s giving these hand cut cards a numerical grade

What bugs me is that, since they started giving numerical grades to strip cards, you need a secret handshake to get one.

I don't know the secret handshake, so you can guess which ones I submitted.

There appears to be one missing.

Are you saying that you are seeing more Authentic grade of late when submitting?

I own a few W514 strips now, but I just thought this card was so charming.
I can just picture my 8 year old self (transported back) in 1920 tearing a card off a strip to get to a player from my team with such glee.

Side note: the image inside the framing of this one is still clean and strong after all these years. Love this card for some reason.

May be a dumb question since I don't have a lot of strip cards...but what is the conventional wisdom regarding trimming?

Does it matter when the trimming was done? 100 years ago...5 years ago...a hour ago?

Obviously they are all trimmed at some point. How can you tell, and do you really care, when that trimming occurs?

As far as I know, the current thinking is that it doesn't matter when they were trimmed/cut, because it is almost impossible to determine when it was done.

From what I gather, it seems that the grading companies like to see the black dotted lines or straight lines when grading. If that’s the case, there would always be a card next to the one that does not have the black lines because the one next to it was cut to include them. There would also be the end card which may not have a black line. So does a card without a line get graded lower than one with a line?
