Thanks, Phil! It's one of the reasons why I bought the card, it's aesthetically pleasing and I don't mind the creases, paper loss is my pet peeve. I guess it just depends on the card.

Couldn't resist these. Unfortunately the W554 Ruth has a lot of "Newton's Rings", hence the angle I took the picture at to avoid seeing them.

Feel like Ed Konetchy is one of the underrated players from the Cracker Jack era, and I like the image.

This image has always fascinated me, what's the deal with the guy in the background pulling off the Elaine from Seinfeld dance move?

Even more strange I seem to remember a post showing this image without the guy in the background.

My guess is the guy in the background was throwing/warming up, and his image was blurry. Someone in the production of this Ruth insert decided to eliminate the blur by drawing in the part of his uniform that was 'in-motion'. Quite creepy...they should have left that player's image blurry.

I believe that pitcher was digitally added at some point. Doesn't look like a real person who was physically there.

Agreed. Looks a little like Dutch Ruether.

As we know, it was not uncommon for pitchers to warmup in front of the dugout, and he may have been doing that when Ruth was asked to mug for the camera (note he is nowhere near the ondeck circle). Obviously the pitcher was not about to unload one into the back of the Babe's head, but it is not illogical to think that he was going through (threw) the motions. Still, as noted, his legs look kittywampus.

The more I look at it, the creepier it gets...

Loving scooping up these E121's lately.

E121’s are great. Very underrated set.

Knocked a big one off the DS list...I am hoping to finish it up by the spring assuming the high numbers come up. Very pleased with the grade. Have stopped kicking myself for all the time is passed on in for $100 or $200.

Had a few better-than-expected grades come in on some stuff I was looking to sell and found myself with the funds to obtain this guy, my first of the four ‘33 Goudeys.
