Doolan run

Received the E97 BW today from Bill Kasel to finish off this run. I sprinkled in the E97s and an M131 along the way.

Nice Steve!

Awesome run Steve

Doolan
Cool Steve!!...Jerry

Nice PSA 7 Leach in Al's auction.
|
That is so cool looking - nicely done
|
Love it! I’m so happy I could help close that out. Congratulations!

It wasn't a rumor on the 2 cobbs. I saw a 7 and an 8.....both in PSA holders if I recall. I couldn't believe it either. Tony Arnold showed them to me. Definitely 2 very high end orange cobbs, at least.

Bescher

Bumping this thread on my favorite set to show my Bescher run with the M131 also and a few dupes. I’m building a binder set also and have plenty to trade if anyone is interested.

Haven't posted this one in a while but here's my "silverback" Doolan.
Attachment 539441 Still haven't seen any others with this color of background. I imagine it was originally cut off a sheet with other cards, perhaps that also have different colored backgrounds? From an oddity standpoint, I think I also have a Bates around here somewhere with some oversized borders that was handcut. I've owned a blue Speaker with a ghost on the reverse and a red Byrne with an upside down back. So a few neat goofs came out of this set for sure. Question on the Oranges - was it ever confirmed that there are more than one of any of the players in this color? Or is the thinking that these were still cut off the same sheet? |
Great set and great cards, all

Orange
If someone would remember to post his orange ones like I reminded him the other night...Jerry

Nothing special, but my 2 examples. I find these alongside a red E98 Hippo Vaughn at a card store in Cooperstown, NY that apparently thought they were common T206's and priced accordingly when I was ~12. My Dad bought me all 3 and made my year.
I should pick up a type of the other background colors at some point. |

Steve, awesome seeing all your Bescher’s & Doolan’s laid out. Brian, definitely two Orange Cobb’s, a PSA 7 & PSA 8. Here’s another to the thread. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...c852a8d688.jpg

For some sets I just feel fortunate enough to be able to share a card on here (I did previously post the mystery McGraw, but I don't really count that one as an E94), so here is my nicely off-center Murray.

Incredible group of cards. Old Joe Lake is the only Cardinal in the set….and the man NEVER played for the Cardinals!

The E94 Wags has been on my premier want list (I have several) for what seems like forever. As many know, the E94 is the half body Honus while the E95 shows him in the full body batting pose, which fortunately I do hold in my PC. I think the E95 is the equal of E94 and shares the same popularity among collectors.
Can anyone advise if the E98 pre-Black Swamp Honus orange is as tough as the E94? |

I enjoyed reading this thread and seeing all of the amazing e94s. As most of you know, I am one card away from the set. If any if you have a Sam Crawford, let me know your "I don't want to sell it but will for" number. I'd pay well above comps. Thanks, Mark. markandchrissmith@gmail.com

Here is a Joe Lake color run I recently finished.

Solid, Steve - nice grades too!
Is there a known orange out there? |
E94s / color ?
My favorite set .. always looking to upgrade which seems impossible based on how infrequently they show up in auction..
think I already asked this earlier - but thoughts on color rarity ? Purple , orange seem least frequent ; Red , deep green most frequent ? |

Jeff those Cobbs are incredible. Steve congrats on finishing the Lake color run, never an easy task with E94's.
|
Color
Darrell I can only speak from my experience but orange is the most rare...in the thirty I scanned on the front page I have 8 olive green, 5 gold, 5 forest green, 5 blue, 5 red and 2 purple...I also had a purple Wagner and Murray at one time...two of the olive green were overprints...Jerry
